Mass Shootings/Killings Thread

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/03/02/world/international-gun-laws.html?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark shows how easy/hard it is to buy guns in a number of major countries.

America: "well we're tougher than yemen"

Israel is an interesting one since conservatives always love to cite it as an example of an armed state.

The vice chairman of the Republican Party in Cobb County, Georgia promoted a video that claims the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida was faked.

DeVos had a press conference at Stoneman Douglas. Students asked questions and she walked off without giving an answer.

Turns out it wasnt a student asking questions, it was a bear. A crisis actor playing a bear. Need more guns.

http://michiganradio.org/post/us-senate-candidate-wants-buy-guns-homeless-people

A Michigan man running as a Libertarian for U.S. Senate says he wants to raise money to buy 20 pump style shotguns for homeless individuals.

"Not only are the homeless constantly under threat from would-be criminals," says Brian Ellison, "but they are also under threat from governments at various levels that criminalize activities that homeless people rely on for survival."

I don't see any flaws here.

Meanwhile an ALABAMA MAN has finally shown some common sense on the debate about arming teachers and given a reason not to...because they're women!

http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2018/03/women_scare_of_guns.html

Alabama lawmakers need to protect "our ladies" and to do that, they should not arm teachers because most are women, argued State Rep. Harry Shiver, R-Stockton, this morning.

Most women, and women teachers in particular, "are scared of guns," and should not be expected to carry them in classrooms, he said.

He's a vocal opponent of the bill and is so against it he's probably going to abstain. What a hero!

A Republican running for the Maine state legislature is dropping out of the race following criticism for calling one of the survivors of last month's mass shooting at a Florida high school a "skinhead lesbian."

There's been 4 bombings in Austin now. Two people have been killed so far.

And another school shooting.

(CNN)In the days and weeks following the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the National Rifle Association saw a significant spike in donations.

In fact, reports from the Federal Election Commission show donations to the NRA's Political Victory Fund tripled from January to February.
In January, the NRA collected almost $248,000 in individual contributions. In February, they collected more than $779,000.

watching her get pwned by teenagers is really god damn funny. These kids are the best. I'm glad these advertisers are being held accountable for the shit they work with for once.

as far as the nra donations going up it doesn't shock me. I'd like to know what the breakdown is for foreign donations tbh. The base is rallying around them right now because they are SHOOK. But the real question is will the NRA be able to keep that going long-term and will they be able to lure back the corporations and others who dumped them and what concessions they'll have to make to do so.

Longtime @NRA Board member Ted Nugent just said this about Parkland gun violence survivors: "These poor children, I’m afraid to say this and it hurts me to say this, but the evidence is irrefutable, they have no soul."

He's mad he couldnt adopt any of the survivors so he could have sex with them.

Here we go again:

What disgusts me is the astonishingly(?) large group of people saying these are premeditated attacks planned by Democrats in order to push gun control laws through. Revolting.

I've been reading stuff all day across twitter (sorry I don't have a link to post, this is just my general observation) and it seems people are trying to make the most recent school shooter out to be a victim.

He asked a girl out and she said no. But now they're saying she "humiliated him" like she has some obligation to let him down gently just because he asked. And now his father is saying he's a victim too because he was bullied. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

From what I know he harrassed her for weeks if not months and turning him down very publicly was her last resort to get him to leave her alone. It's not shocking that some people are making excuses for him though.

Reading twitter is just going to get you mad though and it's pretty huge waste of time when you KNOW that it's a giant trollbot operation.
