Mass Shootings/Killings Thread

True it is. Unfortunately there are people in the world that think just like those trolls. I can't do anything about them, but it sucks.
 
So far, the gun nuts have blamed doors (TX Lt. Gov), ritalin (Oliver North), and poor diets (Ted Nugent) for the latest school massacre.
 
I guess nobody is responsible for their own actions.

Except black guys with guns.....they're terrorists.
 
And anyone who's in a gang, they're animals - but also totally responsible for their actions

I didn't fear my mom and I talk to her on the phone every single day. We have a great relationship. She still disciplined me. She didn't beat me senseless or really ever lay a finger on me and I still minded her for the most part (as much as any normal kid does).

I hate that fucking narrative. The only way to get kids to straighten up and act right is to kick their ass. And if you are friendly with your kid at all then you're failing and being their friend. Fuck that. My son and I do all kinds of things together and have all kinds of fun. He's written that I was his best friend on school papers and guess what? He minds me and doesn't get in trouble at school! I also don't spank him anymore and he still minds. Because I discovered spankings didn't work!

"These parents need to be beating their kids and then they'll fall in line!"

Reminds me of GTA III when the guy called into Chatterbox and said "my daddy used to whoop the tar out of me" when complaining about kids today.

This has been floating around Facebook the last few days which inspired my post.

As someone who was beaten by his mom as a child, I can honestly say that it fucks you up mentally in the long run.
 
Another school shooting in Indiana. This one at my nephew's school. He's fine luckily. And luckily nobody died this time from what I can tell.

Yeah I read they were injured and transported to a hosp....local medical facility. Hopefully none of the injuries are fatal.

I wonder if they'll use the good guy with a gun from OKC as an example when arguing this stuff while ignoring the cop wounded at Santa Fe high school?

Turns out the dude in OKC was insane and thought that demons were out to get him or something.

It is not civil to remember how Trump and his deplorable worshipers called the press the "enemy of the people" and literally wished grave violence on them.
 
He was a Trump supporter who had an issue with the paper spreading back five years or so, they had written an article about him he didn't like. Then he said the paper was spreading fake news about Trump and there you have it.
 
Milos's stuff can't be looked at as light-hearted bullshit anymore. Whether there was a link to this incident or not, you can't just encourage violence in a public platform when people take you seriously, no matter how 'tongue-in-cheek' it is.

Sorry but some speech should be classified as hate speech, and I think encouraging people to commit violence should qualify.

While the gun violence debate has focused on how to stop the epidemic of school shootings, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is taking a different approach: teaching school children how to adapt to them.

The DHS has issued a $1.8 million grant in order to create a program providing “lifesaving trauma training to high school age students for mass casualty events,” according to federal procurement records reviewed by TYT.

The training program, called “School-Age Trauma Training,” seeks to provide “the knowledge necessary to stabilize the injured and control severe bleeding until first responders arrive on the scene,” the documents state.
 
It's good they want to teach these kids this but this really shouldn't be necessary for fuck's sake.
