I'm fairly sure Purple Rain was Prince.

Indeed. Too bad MJ never covered "Pussy Control".

Matt fact: In 1995, I wanted to dress as Michael Jackson for Halloween. My mom said I was too fat. In retrospect, that was one of the few times being a fat kid benefited me in the long run.

[Earlier today before he died]
Customer: Michael Jackson is in the hospital.
Me: Oh no...did his hair catch on fire again?

You could have been Weird Al as Michael from "Eat It"

R.I.P.

Really sad day for me as I'm a big fan of his music.

A lot of my relatives associate me with Michael Jackson because when I around 2 and 3 years old I would put on a show for them by busting out Michael Jackson dance moves for candy and stuff.

I'm sure he would have loved to see this.

I indirectly (and somewhat inadvertently) compared 9/11 to Michael Jackson's death just about an hour ago. I was just remarking how the weather always seems to be nice during really traumatic/bizarre days.

I just knew Michael Jackson's death would set a new record for shortest time between celebrity's death and jokes about said celebrity's death. The previous record holder was Charlton Heston and I can't say both didn't have it coming to them in a way. I'm actually a bit bummed about this but not enough to ruin any of you amateur yukster's fun.

Time to enjoy days of death coverage, where everyone states he was amazing and never did anywrong in his life.

Beats the endless Jon & Kate dreck that has long overstayed its welcome.

The worst thing about celebrity deaths is that everyone turns into a wannabe comedian.

Since I live close to LA, the news coverage about this has been non stop.

For real. Coverage of MJ's death in the LA media is only dwarfed by three things in my lifetime: 9/11, the 1992 LA Riots and the 1994 Northridge earthquake. I'm in awe of the media circus at UCLA right now.

A Few things:

First, MTV had to change its joke of a schedule to a Michael Jackson tribute. Maybe they should show music more often. Then after a bit, 16 and Pregnant comes on, Give me a Fukin Break.

My favorite MJ tunes were the hits Beat It, Thriller, BJ, MOM, Smooth Criminal and the underrated ones Human Nature and Got the Hots.

RIP MJ

Idolator has a posting saying that Michael left the Beatles catalog to Paul McCartney in his will.

So Paul McCartney killed Michael Jackson to spoil...ahh fuck I'm no good at those. But Paul McCartney probably killed him to get the catalog back. And he hired the serial pillist to do it.

An Emergency Room source at UCLA hospital said Jackson aides told medics he had collapsed after an injection of potent Demerol — similar to morphine.

A Jacko source said: “Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing.

“His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped.
