Yeah I played Crackdown back when it was new. Online was great, hopefully the servers are still alive.

I had fun with the little bit I played of Quantum but I'm a sucker for Bod games. I knew a guy that told me Too Human was pretty good if you go in with minimal expectations.

Crackdown is SO good (and SO cheap nowadays) that I think Microsoft should just bundle it with the xbox.

It's almost the same exact game as the first one. If you've played the demo you've basically seen what the entire game is about, but you just have to do it multiple times while fighting bigger groups of enemies.

OH GOD I DID IT AGAIN! This might be my best haul yet.

Alone in the Dark, Conan, Jumper: Griffin's Story, Don King Presents Prizefighter, Indianapolis 500 Evolution, and Space Chimps.

I really should, but no. I'm buying these games for my own perverse enjoyment

If you decide to start one your goal should be to somehow be worse than Blue Luigi.

What was wrong with the PS2 version? I know that it helps to slow down the grappling otherwise it's impossible to pull off moves.

I don't know that there was anything wrong with it. I've just never liked any wrestling game that wasn't an N64 AKI title. And WrestleMania: The Arcade Game wasn't bad.

So, out of all those games, I think I just beat the worst of all of them. Jumper: Griffin's story. Such a horrible pile of dog shit, I think I need a drink. Or ten. It seriously has the WORST fucking camera I've seen this generation, and maybe the worst of all time.

Apparently if you install Doom 3: BFG Edition to your hard drive you can't play the first two Dooms that are on the disc.

That's....odd.

They're the same games that are on XBLA and I guess installing the game causes a conflict with the files. Why not just include codes to download the games then?

I've played the first two Doom games so much that I'm tired of them. I wish they would used one of those source ports to update the graphics. Also, it would have been cool if they released Doom 64. I never got past the first level because it was really dark.

I use it mostly to update the IP I'm using Blockless from / the geographic location I want to pretend I'm in.

So I've never played a Call of Duty game. I saw a commercial for Black Ops 2 and considered getting it to play online.
Or should I get one of the older ones and play it online?
Either way I'm probably going to get killed, a bunch.

My friend suggested I play them all for the single player. Thoughts?

If you're not sure, I'd say it couldn't hurt to grab Call of Duty 4 first to see if you dig it. It's probably $10-20. The single-player campaign has some pretty stellar moments. No idea about the multiplayer; I imagine there'd still be a few people playing, but they could all be cheating for all I know.

You can cheat on a console game?

Is the first one really outdated or would it still be a lot of fun?

Are there any 360 exclusives worth dipping on a console for? I've been seeing some deals lately and was contemplating it. Also, do you guys still have to pay for online access?

Before I get into this, keep in mind that I don't particularly like Call of Duty. I have only played CoD4 to completion, a few levels' worth of Black Ops, and maybe 15 minutes of multiplayer for one of the games during a Steam free weekend. So I'm not super familiar with things.

I assume the theoretical cheating would be via modded consoles, and/or using exploits that won't get patched out, because the game came out years ago and Activision isn't Valve. But I don't play online, so I don't really know specifics.

The first Call of Duty was a WWII shooter for PC, and I think it got some console ports. It was re-released as Call of Duty Classic to go along with the Modern Warfare 2 release, and is $15 on XBLA/PSN now.

CoD 2 was an early Xbox 360 release (also PC), and at the time, was thought to be pretty excellent.

CoD3 was Treyarch's first shot at development, and I think most people consider it one of the weaker titles.

CoD4 was the first "modern" game, and is when the series really started to take off.

World at War went back to Treyarch, and WWII, and I think its main draws were being pretty brutal with its violence, and the series' first zombie mode.

Modern Warfare 2 was supposedly pretty good, and was the last release from the original Infinity Ward team, before the company's founders were fired by Activision.

Black Ops I think is set in the '60s, and I think is where Treyarch really gained their footing and put out a title arguably as good as the Infinity Ward titles.

Modern Warfare 3 I think was largely considered more of the same.
