I’m about 99% sure I just walked past Patrick Ewing on my way into Circle Centre Mall in Indy. I have no idea why he would be here but the dude looked just like him and the height checked out.

Does LaMarcus Aldridge get into the Hall of Fame? I ask primarily because, in the wake of Stephen Curry and DeMar Derozan both recently crossing the 25K point mark (s/o to the class of 2009), I remember when 20,000 points used to be the "magic number." Prior to Tom Chambers, nobody in the history of the league had scored 20K and not made the Hall of Fame. Chambers became the first player to earn that dubious distinction and, as of today, there are still only three who are eligible for the Hall that are not in (Chambers, Antawn Jamison and Joe Johnson).

Aldridge, if I am correct, will become eligible next year. Bball-ref has his Hall of Fame probability at 50.9%. By my count, there are thirty-three current enshrinees who have a lower score.

I always felt like he was a top tier Hall of Very Good. Had some great seasons but was usually on the lower end of the Top 10 MVP Voting and never really felt like he played as dominantly as he should have for his ability. The fact he was usually All-NBA 3rd Team probably doesn't help his credentials IMO when comparing him to the peers of his era.

I could see him getting in and wouldn't be outraged or anything. I think his productive longevity helps him a lot compared to say, somebody like a Shawn Marion (who I think should be in the HOF as his defensive ability was underrated due to playing in that Phoenix system but I also see the argument against him as a "first half career" type).
