Are we keeping the penalties turned on? I wouldn't be opposed to keeping them on so long as we turn them off next season since it's pretty proven that it doesn't negatively effect the User enough and impacts the CPU too much.

Really? The majority of my calls are Face Masks on CPU D with Holding and False Starts being much rarer. I'll track any penalties called in my game against Air Force to see what happens.

Penalty Breakdown
01: Holding Army on PR
02: Holding AF on 2nd & 10 - 2nd & 19. Results in Punt
03: Holding AF on KR - Ball placed on 15 as opposed to 25. Results in Punt returned to AF 45. Army FG
04: Holding Army on PR - Ball placed on 34 as opposed to 44. Army TD
05: Holding AF on 1st & 10. Negates 11 yard QB scramble. 1st & 20 at own 37. Punt after they converted a 4th & 2.
06: False Start AF on 2nd & 12 makes it 2nd & 17 at end of game.

Definitely gave me 3 points and arguably took maybe 3-7 points from AF. I do know depending on team's aggressiveness that I've had multiple face masks (the 19 penalty Temple game was mostly that IIRC).

Army Blows Out Air Force 41-3

I largely just shut them down. Rushing wise they had just 67 yards on 17 carries from their non-QB. Their QB was 9/19 for just 110 yards. My kicker also set a new career long at 40 yards.

QB Trent Steelman: 6/12 for 128 yards and 1 TD
RB Edwin Baker: 28 carries for 186 yards and 2 TD.
FB Aaron Armstrong: 2 carries for 57 yards and 1 TD.
WR Lonnie Liggins: 3 catches for 91 yards and 1 TD.

Sacks came from DE Bobby Lyons with 2 and Michael Cermak with 1.

Play style is doing it more than penalty sliders. I mean UB had a shitton of facemasks called, but they were trying to strip the ball because I was running all over them & they were down big early so it increased the likelihood of a facemask call.

That's what I meant by the "aggressiveness" of teams. With that said, it still makes the games "too" easy if you run into such a team.

I'm okay either way, though if we take off penalties, I might as well stop blitzing because the only reason the other team gets so many is because I wait till the linebacker gets a clear path to the QB, then I try squishing the QB. The holding call nearly 90% of the time is against the player that needed to dive into the LBs field.

Do I blitz all the time? No, that's just stupid.

Geezus... Now my defense decides to croak. Really, when I give up 130 yards on 12 attempts to the starting back, and then 141 yards on 9 attempts to the back up, I'm not feeling too good about my chances against either Stanford or TCU.

Thankfully, I got my offense back. Malcome's pretty much got the starting job. Thomas is still providing goodness 13 attempts for 88 yards, but Malcome still gets those big runs like this game and managed on 12 attempts 148 yards and a score. I tossed a very stupid INT, but the 300+ yards passing and 3 TDs made up for it.

If I could just get the whole team to play well for a single freaking game, I'd be a happy, happy man.

Well, Week 12 is a short week, since its only Army (HQ), Georgia (me) and TCU (Cart) doing battles this week.

And I finally regain my #1 spot. Hurray!

Also, I point you to the BCS Standings in the main post. Look near the 20 to 25 spot to see a team that I never would've thought would get ranked, but its been one of those seasons.

Oh, and how the hell does Texas rank so high with a SIX-FOUR record? That's blasphemy!

My first half sucked badly. I was only up 7-0 on Vanderbilt. But eventually I got into a groove and won. I'm kinda worried because first half sucking has been a theme lately, and I'm not sure what I can do to fix that. I'm happy that I manage to right the ship in the second half, but these first halves need to stop.

Glad I won big, but really, I'm going yet again in the NC to whichever human player I face. *sigh*

Army Upsets #25 Georgia Tech In Dramatic Fashion

Had to claw like a madman to win this thing. The defense was awesome throughout the entire game. At one point I'm down 24-14 and manage to recover a fumble on a kick return. Make a (career long) 42 yard FG to make it 24-17. Defense makes a huge stop thanks to a Josh Jackson INT at their 25 and I'm forced to settle for a 38 yard FG.

HUGE stop gives me the ball with a little over 3:00 left in the 4th quarter. I proceed to drive the ball from my own 13 yard line, mixing in Options with Passes. I'm stuck with a 4th & 10 but spy Baker open, converted! A few more completions to Baker (on the same play) and TD Army with about 0:13 on the clock! Pick by Shumacher sealed the win.

Went back to the Triple Option to control the clock and try and keep them off the field as much as possible. Mostly worked.

QB Trent Steelman: 8/22 for 151 yards with 1 TD vs. 1 INT. 12 carries for 35 yards and 1 TD. Dude was an MVP on that final drive.
HB Edwin Baker: 2 carries for -2 yards. 4 catches for 59 yards and 1 TD.
WR Marcus Jackson: 2 catches for 53 yards.
TE Patrick Laird: 1 catch for 22 yards.
WR Lonnie Liggins: 1 catch for 17 yards.

Defensively I had 4 Sacks (SS Hurst, LB Prosko, LB Little, and LB Combs) along with 3 INT from CB Josh Jackson, CB Luke Shumacher, and a key Pick 6 from LB Stephen Anderson resulting from a Combs sack.

About time to be ranked... took improbable wins over a ranked Rutgers and ranked Georgia Tech team but I did it, just in time to get absolutely smoked by Oklahoma. Bah.

Still a hell of a turnaround from 1-11 or whatever to a likely 9-3 or even 10-2 record. June Jones, eat your heart out!

Oklahoma Beats Down Army 41-26

Couldn't run much and they largely had their way with my defense.

QB Trent Steelman: 20/38 for 222 yards and 1 TD vs. 1 INT
QB Angel Santiago: 6/11 for 129 yards
RB Edwin Baker: 14 carries for 41 yards and 1 TD. 4 catches for 39 yards.
WR Marcus Jackson: 7 catches for 122 yards and 1 TD.
WR Jamar Wells: 5 catches for 76 yards.
WR Damian Wells: 4 catches for 61 yards.
WR Lonnie Liggins: 4 catches for 38 yards.

Defensively the team had 3 Sacks. 1 by LBs Jamal Little and Bill Prosko, 0.5 by LB Nate Combs and DT Austin George. CB Josh Jackson continues to be the Defensive Team MVP with 1 INT and a 94 yard FR TD.

SU gets by Louisville 35-13. Finishes the Big East season 6-1 and it looks like once again I will be handed a BCS bowl bid. As promised, I will look for alternate employment next season, because as much as I hate to leave SU I hate being in BCS bowls simply by being the best of a soft conference with an auto-invite.

tl;dr: I'm looking at moving to Nebraska for next season.

So I had beaten Washington 38-20 (was up 31-0 then played crap the rest of the game) but the game froze on me during a load screen before it takes you back to the dynasty menu and the game never saved. I didn't feel like replaying the whole game so I simmed all but three plays and the computer actually won by a bigger margin than me 35-10. I'm kinda embarrassed by that fact but hey racked up a ton of pancake blocks that are impossible to get when playing.
