Getting pretty pissed off at recruiting now that I'm 5 years into my dynasty with a great win/loss record and still being "C+" champion contender. Also pitching items that are important to recruits gets lukewarm receptions.

WTF?

Most C+ is going to give you far less than a High A. (also never just pitch if you can help it, because you get the same points for Compare as you do with Make Pitch except Compare gives negative points to whoever you're comparing against so long as their rating is lower than yours)

Also I'm a B+ championship contender. In the SEC. As the two-time defending national champion. It's kinda messed up.

So I have NCAA 11 and Madden 10. Should I upgrade either of them with this year's cycle of games or stand pat?

I'd stand pat myself. There are flaws in the "new" stuff added and it's better to wait until next year in the hopes they tweak them correctly for both NCAA and Madden.

You know, when Madden did the whole cut days thing, I worried it would screw up and you'd get cuts that would never happen for fake guys. And my worries came true. The cut days is so flawed that the Texans cut TJ Yates for an imaginery qb who had a 98? potential but ended up at 45 when it was done adjusting.

Potential listing for drafted players? Ok, I get it, makes sense. But undrafted supposed to be cut day cannon fodder that end up taking spots even though they truly suck? Problem. I'm in year 2 and the Packers cut Matt Flynn for fake qb Stewart Hansen who is now the back-up.

So the draft worked so so minus the reaching when player is needed, free agent signing is just stupid, and cut days is a great concept with very lazy execution.

I figured I'd wait til the end of the regular season to have updated rosters before bothering with franchise mode but the above issue makes it almost unplayable. The only way to get around it is to take over all 32 teams and do the cuts yourself but it's such a tedious task. All they had to do was create the real life practice squad players and then maybe have the computer auto sign the already created free agents to fill out the rosters but they definitely went the lazy route. Also having to do cuts before you even play a preseason game is utterly pointless.

Also doesn't help they still have lame roster requirements, like keeping four guards and four tackles which forces you to have at least ten offensive lineman when most teams only carry eight or nine on the active roster in real life. I had to sign free agents for a bunch of teams just to meet the lineman requirements as I cut the fake players. Probably will only play one season and be done with it although I still can't put together a slider set that isn't either way too hard or way too easy.

You can play the games then make cuts, just can't sim to the next week until you make the cuts. And you can keep one center which helps but god, it still is broken. If they had actual ratings with position battles, it would work PERFECTLY!

Like then they are battling your shitty low end players for special teams spots. Once again, great concept and idea but horrible terrible execution on making it work.

Not to mention NCAA not having the lower divisions means a lot of real life prospects would need created and not just added. And don't even get me started on the uploading draft classes being complete shit in terms of ratings.

And free agency makes no sense. If a guy is below an 80 at running back or qb, don't expect him to sign anywhere. So potential matters in cutting but doesn't mean shit in free agency. And any player drafted later than round five? F potential.

I don't get how they get these great plans that would seriously make an amazing football game then piss them down their leg. Position battle would fix cut days, but they removed it years ago. AI filling needs wisely would fix free agency, but the ai is stupid. Seriously they can make a fucking middle linebacker jump 10 yards into the air sideways but they can't make the AI smart enough to make good personal decisions?
