1) Statistically speaking, winning four games in a row in the NFL is hard for the best of teams

2) I don’t think you can be so sure they’re better than potential playoff teams when they have Russ cooking back there

Stidham is way better than Russ, way better than the QB we have and will be starting by like week 3. He is good.

Steelers released CB Ahkello Witherspoon and signed WR Hakeem Butler to a 1 year deal. Even if the XFL/USFL aren't "successes" in a fan sense, I'm all for them existing if it means players get 2nd chances for NFL careers. The majority probably won't do much but if a handful of guys can make 3-6 year careers after, it's worth it.

God damn even old washed up Givers still got 4k as he limped out of the league and then you got the QB trash teams like NYJ, Cleveland, Titans, Niners and Bears wandering off in the wilderness.

Teams can now carry an emergency QB in case another Niners situation occurs.

Cardinals have officially released WR DeAndre Hopkins so it will be interesting to see who he signs with.

Jets are already running into Jets problems as they signed S Adrian Amos largely due to S Chuck Clark (whom they acquired via trade) suffering a "serious" knee injury that could wipe out all of the 2023 season for him.

Sounds like Isaiah Simmons is switching to Nickel CB/S this year: https://www.espn.com/blog/arizona-c...ive-nomad-isaiah-simmons-finally-finds-a-home

"Simmons, whose fifth-year option was declined by the Cardinals, is coming off a season in which he played 38.8% of his snaps as a slot corner, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. The expectation is for him to continue spending a significant amount of time as the nickel corner. He ended up starting six of the last eight games at defensive back last season.

Personally, I'd like to master defensive back first before I dive into going with the outside linebackers or whatever else it could come about,” Simmons said this offseason. “So I'd like to be a master at least at everything in the secondary before I get to go in other places.”

Officially the summer season when we start to see more of these stories...

"According to a tip received by Local 10 News, at around 6 p.m. Sunday, Hill got into some kind of disagreement with an employee of one of the charter companies based at Haulover Marina that apparently ended with Hill hitting the man.

Sources later told Local 10 News that Hill’s group was fishing for tarpon from the dock at the marina, which is not allowed. Tarpon are protected in Florida.

Those sources said the charter boat employee informed the group of the rule which led to an argument and ended with Hill hitting the man in the back of the head."

I just read about that, apparently a dozen people or so have died in rip currents near the gulf coast in the past two weeks. I doubt most of them even knew the risk, so sad. RIP

They're the fucking worst. Cub scout lesson on how to handle them probably saved my life.
My mother told me a story about how she almost got caught in one as a teen in New York and how terrifying it was. I'm sure even those who are aware of it get surprised by them.
