The Jets definitely blinked first here. That's a lot for a guy with one foot into retirement. The Rams just had a Super Bowl or Bust trade work for them, so we'll see.

Being the eternal pessimist, I am assuming with a healthy hand and a new chip on his shoulder that Rodgers is throwing 40 TDs and losing in the AFC championship. Even as a Jet he'll blow it.

Just like with Favre, it's the team I genuinely mind the least. My father might finally see his team get a Soup. If they take it all I won't be mad at Rodgers at all for leaving less than a year after buying a really expensive jersey of his.

Unless they're playing the Packers in which case fuck everyone else.

Jets were 2-9 last season against teams playing their starting QB.

The defense is overrated and all this Super Bowl talk is a pipe dream.

Got essentially the same deal as Hurts but I don’t recall you saying he wilted either.

Well, Hurts wasn't publicly holding out for the level of Deshaun Watson guaranteed money like Lamar's camp was making him out to be. IIRC, there actually was an offer with more guaranteed? that Lamar turned down earlier in the offseason.

I'm glad Lamar got his deal. I was afraid my favorite sports casters were going to hurt themselves stretching this story out.

Lmao

There was some rumbling that Cobb was going to come back to the Packers to be the vet for the 6 or 7 1st and 2nd year WRs we have, but I didn't really buy that since he was only on the team to appease ARod.

Giants schedule is rough. Open against the Cowboys on Sunday Night. Niners on a Thursday in week 3. Monday night against Seahawks in week 4 Three out of their first 4 games are national prime time games.

Then close the season playing the Eagles two out of the last three weeks. Including a Christmas Day game.

My very early Patriots schedule prediction for this season...

vs. Philadelphia [L], vs. Miami [W], @ NY Jets [L], @ Dallas [W], vs. New Orleans [W], @ Las Vegas [L]. vs. Buffalo [L], @ Miami [L], vs. Washington [W], vs. Indianapolis in Germany [W], @ NY Giants [W], vs. LA Chargers [W], @ Pittsburgh [L], vs. Kansas City [L], @ Denver [L], @ Buffalo [L], vs. NY Jets [W]

Final Record: 8-9. I think the offense and special teams will be greatly improved but I think they'll struggle on the road (including places they always struggle with Miami & Denver) and I don't think they are talented enough to be a 10-7/11-6 team short of other teams missing star players during the season. Them playing the Jets so early is likely a loss compared to if/how Rodgers would be holding up by midseason. I gave them wins over Dallas, Giants, and Chargers as they usually beat teams that are better than them on paper or teams like the Chargers who just seem to fuck it up against the Pats too often.

Steelers on the road is a tough challenge but that could go either way too.

Worth highlighting that mid-season changes things drastically. Miami was 8-3 then won just 1 game the rest of the year. Pats were 6-4 then won just 2 games the rest of the way. Jets were 7-4 and lost the rest of their games. Lions were 1-6 at one point and went 8-2 to end the season. Seattle was 6-3 and won just 3 games the rest of the season. Everybody was crowning the NY Giants at 7-2 then they win only 2 games and tied another.

Way too early prediction for Denver: 11-6, which may not be enough to break into the playoffs in a tough AFC.

vs. Raiders (1-0)
vs Commanders (2-0)
@ Dolphins (2-1)
@ Bears (2-2)
vs Jets (3-2)
@ Chiefs (3-3)
vs Packers (4-3)
vs Chiefs (4-4)
@ BIlls (4-5)
vs Vikings (5-5)
vs Browns (6-5)
@ Texans (7-5)
@ Chargers (7-6)
@ Lions (8-6)
vs Patriots (9-6)
vs Chargers (10-6)
@ Raiders (11-6)

Man, winning those last four games in a row is very optimistic.
I don't think so; they have no business losing to what should be a bad Raiders team, they will be better than Detroit and New England, and they already proved they can beat the Chargers at home last year when Denver was a bad team.
