Speaking of trades, Cowboys acquired CB Stephon Gilmore from the Colts for a 5th Round Pick.

Patriots signed OT Calvin Anderson to a 2 year deal from the Broncos. Played 439 snaps last year and should be in the LT mix.

Eagles signed the oft-injured RB Rashaad Penny to a 1 year deal.

We never had a player hold us hostage here. Just the owner. And even then, he lost.

Tom Benson was ready and willing to move the team pre-Katrina. I remember a 2003-04 press conference with an artist rendering of the new open air stadium he wanted to replace the Super Dome, or else. Katrina happened. When we were able to think about things other than rebuilding, recovery, and mourning we saw him hamming it up on TV with San Antonio dignitaries and pretty much shamed him into compliance. That's how I remember it going, anyway. I find it interesting that the billionaire owner failed at his hostage taking but Mr. Rodgers seems to be making headway with his process.

I'm a casual fan of #12. When the Saints are eliminated, I'll express warmth to Green Bay in the playoffs. I know it is coincidence, but the recycled news of Green Bay QB to NY Jets is quite strange to me. He's a completely different person than Favre but I still expect it to be infinitely better than 2008 (if it really happens).

in a weird but obvious way, I think the players have more power than the owners. Great players can win (or at least generate fan interest and excitement) despite shitty owners on occasion. A great owner can’t overcome a mediocre or worse roster.

Honestly, the Packers are moving on from Rodgers a year too late. But they probably couldn’t stomach the backlash of trading the two time defending MVP. This isn’t like Favre where he whined his way out of a team that was just an OT away from the Super Bowl. The Packers are rebuilding, not in win now mode and Rodgers is almost done no matter what. I’m not convinced about Love, but seeing out what they have in him is the right choice. They weren’t going to win this year with Rodgers anyways.

Good get by the Patriots. I always liked JuJu's ability and thought he'd fit in well in their scheme, especially after the catch where they've usually struggled outside of a few guys like Welker/Edelman but even those guys would only get like 3-7 extra yards. Patriots also signed former Iowa OT Riley Reiff, a guy I thought they'd potentially draft way back in 2012 (they drafted Chandler Jones instead).

Saints signed RB Jamaal Williams to a 3 year deal worth $12 Million.

Browns signed S Juan Thornhill to a 3 year deal worth $21 Million.

Raiders re-signed DT Jerry Tillery & S Roderic Teamer while the Eagles re-signed DT Fletcher Cox to a 1 year deal worth $10 Million.

Commanders signed QB Jacoby Brissett to a 1 year deal worth $10 Million.

Cowboys released RB Ezekiel Elliott, designating him as a post-June 1st cut.

The Packers are going to get a ransom for someone who just said that. I would feel pretty good about it.

Yeah the Jets are seemingly willing to let him be GM and bring all his shitty buddies over there. The AFC kinda sucks so this isn't really a big deal but if it goes like last season did people are gonna get pretty angry.
Nah they’ll just go it’s the same ole jets

Saints get Jamaal Williams for 2 mil per yr less than what the Lions signed David Montgomery for. Williams sets Detroit's all time TDs in a season record, and they reward him by paying a division rival's RB more money.

I'm not going to miss Montgomery in Chicago at all. Good riddance. The guy is slow as shit. He breaks so many tackles because he has no ability to make anyone miss. Zero change of direction. He legitimately made Khalil Herbert's 4.55 speed look blazing.

Eagles are expected to be keeping CB Darius Slay.

Patriots signed RB James Robinson to a 2 year deal worth $8 Million. Another "bigger" downhill RB in a stable of them, likely means the Patriots will definitely be drafting a receiving RB in April in the mid-rounds unless they think Robinson's 40+ catches as a rookie implies he could fill that role.

Eagles signed CB Greedy Williams to a 1 year deal. I remember when this dude was getting Top 15 NFL Draft hype.

Jets signed OG Wes Schwartz to a 2 year deal worth $5 Million.

Bears signed RB D'Onta Foreman to a 1 year deal worth $3 Million and TE Robert Tonyan to a 1 year deal.

Seahawks re-signed QB Drew Lock to a 1 year deal worth $4 Million.

Patriots re-signed LS Joe Cardona to a 4 year deal. I really am curious if Belichick makes a move for that Army DE/LB in the NFL Draft or if he sticks more with his Navy ties.
