Don't know if I said this before (probably have), but I'm beginning to have this funny suspicion that the next console Nintendo drops is not a handheld or a console, but a hybrid. Yes, I'm basically suggesting that Nintendo will merge the two into a single system. A person will be able to take the system on the go, come how and play it on their Next (systems developmental name). Before you think I'm telling you something that can't happen. The WiiU is basically the prototype for it. Not only that, but think about it. This way, Nintendo wouldn't need the best graphical system. I mean, if I could take "all" my games on the go, I would take a hit graphically to do that.

Before you say, but "Nintendo will lose sales", actually they wouldn't. The handheld part would become the controller (which it already is with WiiU), which they could sell instantly and at a bit of a higher price because it would allow you to take it on the go. If you've got 3 people in the family, you could buy 3 controllers and everyone could play from the "library". It would likely mean game prices would go up to counter probably less sales as well.

Well, it is a crazy idea I had.

So I'm playing the new Pokemon game and other than the new mechanic for getting Pokemon with non-standard moves, it just doesn't feel like when I as playing X. There's like literally no story for way too long. Yes, I know asking for a story in a game like Pokemon is like asking for cats to murder us all in our sleep and take over the world, but seriously. Feels lacking. And not because I could make my character look how I wanted him to.

Was thinking of trading in some of my games I surprisingly still have from my PS3 days to get it.

This has happened to me before, but I didn't know it was a relatively widespread thing, much less one that was actually recognized by Nintendo. If I play the original Mario Party now I will throw the Tug of War game for this reason.

That was definitely a thing. Many a controller stick ruined by it. I bet the gloves they sent out are worth something now, I didn't have a proof of purchase to send away for one by the time they offered them.

So looks like my thinking of what Nintendo was planning with the NX is correct. Seems that the NX will not only be heading to flash drives for playing the games, but they'll be incorporating consoles and handhelds together into a single package that will allow people to play on the go, but also on the big screen.

Also seems they are putting the best possible chips into the system, so this thing is being pretty beefy.

Kits have been released, so most likely, we're getting a system release either next year or the year after. Fun times.

I hope they stick with the NX title they've been working with. Kinda like it.

The gimmicky controller is that it is the portable system from all reports I've seen. So it'll probably be like $100-$200, but you can take that controller on the go, bring your own information for a game since it'll be saved on it, etc.

Assuming that people who are studying the heck out of the specs are right and not just saying bullshit like they can be. Though, I really hope it is a two piece system, because if I could take any game I want on the go and then boot it up at home, I'd pay all the monies. I really would.

Also got my first shiny Pokemon! WOO! Sure, it is a Chespin when I restarted by game of Y, but still. First one!

I just want to play Zelda on something like the PS4. Just a normal gaming system with a normal controller.

Well it wouldn't be a gimmick controller. It would just be your DS built as a controller. Which they already do for some games, like Smash. So really it is just letting you do that.

To add, my class seems to be planning on having a Pokemon party. There was at least half the class talking about Pokemon and nearly the lot (including our instructor) saying they should bring their systems. It really does bring people together.

I'm also jealous of Gabby. She's got a box of shinies and a box of legendary shinies. Even worse is she says they were legitimate ones. I only just saw my second shiny, which was a Golett and I fainted it. So still on one shiny. Sigh.

I feel like I've played a fair bit of Pokemon in the 16 years since shinies were introduced and I've yet to actually see one myself.

Yeah, I've played probably about 40 hrs and my Chespin was like blind luck. Hell, I wasn't even sure I got one.

Also, speaking of Pokemon, I've spent most of my day resting in bed and continually doing Wonder Trades. Been fun getting things like a level 100 Glacieon, Accelgor and SeismicToad. Collected a ton of starters, some Eevees, a few odd Pokemon like a Druddigon, etc. Still fun wondering what I get each time.

Sure, I've been getting crude inbetween, like a Zigzazoon known as Zagsachs (12 times, lol), but overall, I've been having fun collecting new Pokemon that I'm going to have fun leveling up.

You know how you know you are addicted to something? You wake up and immediately continue doing what you stopped yourself from doing last night.

I stopped around 1 am from Wonder Trading, because I specifically went to grab my two day care Pokemon to trade away because they were the only ones I could trade away. Went to sleep before I started that. I woke up at 10am 30 minutes ago, and just after starting my coffee, I immediately went to do the Wonder Trading.

And OMG, someone traded me a level 1 Froakie with the absurdness that is Protean. Fuck yes!

Yup. I'm totally a Pokemon Addict now. I blame you all.

Sweet! Someone bought my lv100 Dusknoir for a Duskull! Hurray! I can now level it up to Dusknoir as if I didn't have it.

By Arceus, I think I might need help.

Walmart is going to be selling a Wii U bundle with Smash Bros. and Splatoon for $250 on Black Friday. This may finally convince me to bite the bullet. And yes I know Splatoon is a babby game for 4th graders but dammit I want to play it. It looks fun. :-\

But if they expect me to shell out $50 for the same old Twilight Princess in a higher resolution, no, not happening.
