Mucked around with the demo for awhile. Don't think it's going to be enough to distract me from not having my copy of Theatrthym Curtain Call for a week, but it certainly has me excited for the full release. It's just got free for all brawls of 2 to 4 characters for 2 minutes on one stage, but it does offer five playable characters. Link, Mario, Pikachu, Mega Man, and Villager. Villagers final smash involves Tom Nook. YES YES YES.

Kotaku said:
Nintendo, best known as the creator of the dog from Duck Hunt, turns 125 today, and if that doesn't seem very old, consider this: when Nintendo first started, the U.S. had 38 states, and the president was Benjamin Harrison.

Yep, today we know Nintendo for iconic video games like Barker Bill's Trick Shooting and Ken Griffey, Jr. Presents Major League Baseball, but for most of the company's life it was developing and producing cards, toys, and all sorts of other random ventures. Nintendo didn't actually get into electronic gaming until the 1970s.

Nintendo was born on September 23, 1889, and right now in Japan it is September 23, 2014. Happy birthday, Nintendo! Keep up the good work.

So apparently the new Fatal Frame game came out in Japan, and its got wet clothes that actually look wet, has DoA's jiggle physics (low setting though) and also has skimpy costume outfits that you can dress your character up in. On the downside, it isn't very scary, many Japanese players are saying.

The main dude from Factor 5 just revealed that they completed a Rogue Squadron trilogy for Wii but it was never released.

The trilogy would have included Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, and Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, all updated for Wii.

- originally in the works for the Xbox
- Factor 5 became interested in motion controls on Wii
- the team decided to resurrect the Xbox Star Wars Trilogy project for Wii
- the team salvaged the code and started bringing the game over
- the project was 50% done on Xbox
- all control schemes were supported, including GameCube controller and various peripherals
- you could even use the Wii wheel to control your X-Wing, using the balance board for pedals
- revamped content included speeder bike racing levels, third-person action sequences, and lightsaber battles
- lightsaber battles used 1:1 motion controls
- all-new graphics engine running at 60 frames per second
- the project was completed, but then cancelled
- cancellation is blamed on the financial crisis of 2008
- other publishers tried to help out
- unfortunately, financial hardship, legal snafus and budgetary restrictions killed the game
- Julian Eggebrecht, former president of Factor 5 loves the Wii U, but its unpredictable trajectory and licensing troubles in general make a new Star Wars Wii U game unlikely

That is just stupid. So they have invested money into a completed project that would sell thousands of not millions and instead they never get it to store and blame the financial crisis.

If anything that is one of the reasons why we had a financial crisis. Pissing away money and not recouping any of the money from the finished product.

Bayonetta 2 reviews are coming in, and most of them are giving excellent scores. It's the 8th game in GameSpot's history to receive a 10.

There was a Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U yesterday. I guess one big piece of news is that local games can have up to 8 players.

Also, Bayonetta 2 is out today.

I thought that Smash having so much content in it was neat. Smash Tour is basically tossing Mario Party into the game. Also Amiibos being able to be leveled up, utilizing your special versions of characters from the 3DS and the regular roster probably allows for 4 different types of tournaments to be held.

Gonna be quite a while before I get to play it.

So... I moved into a house with a WiiU, and thus was able to pick up Bayonetta 2.

HOLY. SHIT.

Majora's Mask comes to the 3DS in the spring. I was hoping they'd port it eventually. I've only ever gotten a few hours into it and I know I need to play the whole thing, so this will be the time.

The first Mario Kart DLC expansion pack comes out next Thursday. I kind of wish the Animal Crossing one came out first but I'm a weirdo.

I never played the original Majora's Mask. Did Nintendo say if this is a complete overhaul like Ocarina or a port?

A bunch of teens treat the original Nintendo system like it's some sort of primitive technology:

I never realized that blowing into the game could hurt it.

Of all the days to pretend to throw up and call in sick to work, it just had to be today.

It was announced that Marth, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer have been discontinued as Wii U figures. Prices are skyrocketing out the ass on Ebay. I've personally sold 9 Villagers for $30 each.

What I've learned from NES Remix: the controls for the original Mario Bros. game were horrible. I mean, holy shit how did that series get as big as it did after that shit?
