I got tickets for the Lowell show. Excited to see a bunch of these guys for the first time. I've seen LIJ slum it through a few ROH/NJPW War of the World shows but it'll be my first time seeing about 75% of these guys.

So the winner of Okada/Ibushi will be the A Block finalist, B Block still has almost everyone in play but we should get more clarity soon.

So Jay Vs Ibushi is the finals. I'm ok with this as long as Ibushi wins and I'm pretty certain he will. Then I'd do Jay vs Naito because he shat all over him and they need to give Naito something good.

Juice/Moxley was a lot of fun as a story but I think it was a notch below their first match. It told a great story and I think Moxley made Juice look fantastic as a babyface.

I haven't said much about the G1 on the board since most of my thoughts have been stated by other posters but this has been a fantastic G1. Probably my favorite since I became a regular NJPW viewer.

I also love how it breathed new life into Lance Archer.

He's been fantastic. He actually got the NJPW fans on his side during his match with Tanahashi. He got the Claw over in 2019. I remember him being a solid big man, nothing more. He had great matches this year. Even his match with Fale was a fun big man match. I'd love to see him get a run with a belt, most likely the US. Give Shingo the NEVER, Jay works with Naito and the IC, and Ibushi with the world.

Realizing this was on before bed and turning it on was an amazing decision. That last hour was too good. It’s hard to contextualize things right after you just watched them, but this was one of the greatest moments in the history of pro wrestling. I just can’t believe that happened.

spiller free advice: if you're like me and immediately skipped to the final match (I got work this morning!), don't, because you'll wind up with a very WTF response immediately

At the least, definitely watch the two tag matches right before the final (especially the first one), starting around the 1hr30m mark on the New Japan World feed

I can only imagine seeing it in that context, the shock value of it is a large part of what made the moment. That was the best thing that Bullet Club has ever done.

Meltzer says that Shibata isn't going to do a return match, but I know that if I was Gedo and I was going to book KENTA/Shibata for the Dome, I probably wouldn't tell anyone except those two until the press conference. There has to be a strong chance of it.

Tama Tonga was teasing a new member on social media the other day. Still would not have guessed.

I went on the NJPW website this morning to check the card. I didn't think they would put spoilers on the actual card itself, but they had that and the winner of the G1. I just watched the moment, and even with it spoiled I got chills. What a moment! i'm hyped for a match with him and Shibata, if Shibata is cleared. If not, I wonder if Goto comes to Shibata's defense?

Do you have any hobbies? Anything you like?
Ibushi 'Honestly I don't really like anything. What's the deal with golf? Why do old people like it?'
It's social, I think. It's good to have a hobby.
'I guess I'm still looking for one'
Fishing?
'Fishing pisses me off'
(Huge laughter)
Ibushi 'What?'
No, no, it's ok.
'Sorry, I don't know who likes what.'
True. Liger likes to fish. Okada, too, he was talking about it on the bus.
'What's fun about it? When you get a fish, what happens then? That's what pisses me off about fishing'
Kushi 'I don't really have a hobby either. Reading, I love to read'
Ibushi 'I tried getting into reading, it did my head in'
Kushi '...'
'Somebody created all this, made characters and made you envision them, become them, see what they see. It's amazing. I don't trust books'
From Kushida's podcast.

Ibushi is hilarious

Meltzer says that he isn't cleared, but watch this with the captions on. There is NO WAY that they aren't going to have a match.

Listened to Meltzer this morning. He says Shibata isn't cleared to wrestle but is going to try his hardest to get cleared. He mentioned that he gets very physical training students at the LA Dojo and the recent physical confrontation he had with the BC suggests that maybe he can work a match as long as they stay away from his head.

As much as I want to see Shibata in the ring again, I don't think the risk is worth the reward. Just back someone else to go after KENTA.

He doesn't have any sources in NJPW anymore, so you should take that for what it's worth.

I still remember when he said the Shibata injury was a work.

Shibata's njpw profile has been updated at the end to say:

Will Shibata make his dramatic return to deal with KENTA and his betrayal himself, or will we return to the U.S. to redouble his coaching to make sure his young charges are as prepared as possible to deal with the BULLET CLUB menace?

So yeah I think he's probably cleared...

Oh man this is gonna rule. Best pro wrestling company in the world and it isn't even close.

Naito will defend the IC title against White on the show that decides the winner of the Young Lion Cup, which will be September 22nd.

The problems are still going on. Signal dropping out constantly. I ended up giving up it was so bad and I've seen a ton of people saying they did as well on reddit/twitter/etc.

The same thing happened with Impact when they had their show in California a few weeks back. I've never had issues with GCW, or other shows I've watched live. I wonder what the problem was with those 2 shows?

Have you seen when LA goes on sale?

I kinda want to go and while I could drive to LA, I can do a round trip flight to San Jose for around $200 and have a chance to see Liger before he’s done. Those tickets are on sale at noon today so I may try to see if I can get in.
