I tried RollerJam because my grandparents, who loved guys like Thesz and Verne when they were younger, would get magazines that covered roller derby as much as they did wrestling. Just roller derby was legit and all. I was excited to finally see some roller derby but instead of people killing one another I got shitty pro wrestling on wheels. It wasn't until I briefly dated a roller derby player ten years later than I made my peace with the genre.
