I've known two people in my life who have had sex in a cemetery, both women. One lost her virginity on top of a grave when I was in high school and has scars from where the name on the stone scratched her to this day. The other did it in New Orleans for her onlyfans.

My point is I expect better of Sandman and Missy.

I'm pretty sure I made it a point to watch this either by my brother's or maybe it was at my uncle's farm once they got cable.

I thought the angle where Paul E said Sabu was banned by TNN officials for his wild antics was ingenious since Sabu had walked out over money.

Fairly sure it was Toledo. I was at the first taping. They ended up having to do another tag title switch because they didn’t use the show.

Well, he's not entirely wrong in that Awesome's grasp on ring psychology was lacking, but people didn't watch Awesome matches in ECW for long-term selling. They watched Awesome matches because he was someone the size of his more insanely famous cousin (Hulkster) who just brought an all-out war wherever he went. This was also why he faltered in WCW, because there wasn't really anyone who knew how to work a bombfest like he did.

I generally agree with most of Stevie's points, at the very least respect where he's coming from, but his logic when he critiques certain aspects or talents just doesn't hold up and sorta exposes how limited he actually was.

I've watched a lot of his clips and Stevie has a basic, "first day of wrestling school" type viewpoint on most things. Then again so does Raven and most from his generation. I get it and probably would have agreed with him 10/15 years ago but times change

Solid assessment. It's a case of them being right, overall, but also showing their ages.

I just can't think of any Richards moment off the top of my head as great as any Awesome/Tanaka battle. And I like Stevie alright.

Daffney's fate makes that impossible for me to enjoy, honestly.

ECW original manager Hunter Q. Robbins lll has passed away at age 57. He was Sabu's original manager.

He was in ECW in 93. Promoted for awhile and then became a film director

I decided to watch Guilty as Charged '99. Got to Tajiri/Super Crazy.

1. It's funny that this match-up would be repeated constantly, sometimes in 3way Dances and sometimes in tag matches, and never got old. They always brought the best out of each other.

2. This is "video game wrestling" done right. Little down time, the moves actually make some sense (Tajiri targeting Crazy's leg early on, Crazy blocking attacks with straight kicks), and the finish comes from nowhere but feels earned.

3. These two literally raised the value of the ECW midcard in a way that I don't even think Eddie/Malenko or Rey/Psicosis did.

4. I wonder how many times they actually faced off...

Cagematch has Tajiri and Super Crazy in the same match 102 times, and a spot check looks to have them on the same side of a tag somewhere around 12-15 times, so between singles, multiways and tags they were probably on the opposite side of each other at least 85 times (assuming these records are complete, which they probably aren't.

Absolutley bonkers that it always felt fresh, too.
I think what helped is that it was just really good chemistry married with a natural rivalry & wrestling style. The best matchups like Savage/Steamboat, Bret/Austin, Austin/Rock to an extent, Flair/Steamboat, Awesome/Tanaka, even a Raven/Dreamer is very rarely do the matches feel "same old" every single time they do it.

Tajiri/Super Crazy gets underrated because it was happening in the shadow of stuff like RVD/Lynn at the time and on the heels of the Rey/Psicosis stuff which got massively played up especially in retrospect today.

Yeah, the Crazy/Tajiri series (and Awesome/Tanaka) was a big reason I got super into ECW at the end of the 90s.
