I just played a game of NBA Jam an hour ago. Sacramento beat Philadelphia by 2. Mitch Richmond is a fucking beast, 9 in 3PT and I think a 7 or 8 in POW meaning you just shove everyone & get easy turnovers.

There is an arcade 20mins from me, I think the most recent game its had is Time Crisis 4.

I'd love to have an old school arcade near by. Give me TMNT, Pit Fighter, and Galaga and I'm good

Hey NBA Jam never gets old.

From downtown!

HE'S ON FIRE!

I'd love an old school arcade. The closest thing I have is in Portsmouth and they only get the latest thing we got was CvS choas. And that was because me and my mate requested it over and over again.

THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN! (when you score to go up like 18 with 20 seconds left, because 16 just wasn't enough.)

Worst time of the year, the pre-holiday rush. I'm bored of all the games I have but too cheap to buy anything new for fear of seeing it on sale within a week.

I feel the same way. A week after launch, Target had Tekken 6 on sale for $44.99, and this week Borderlands is the same price.

It's even worse on Steam because by the time my DSL downloads the game, it'd be on sale, so I don't even really get the satisfaction of playing it between paying and "Oh shit, I could've saved $__ if I'd waited until right now to buy it".

I can't really complain, since I got the Valve Complete Pack last Christmas as a gift and so far have only played L4D out of it (already had TF2 and haven't even installed any of the Counter-Strikes).

About a month ago, an arcade - yes, an arcade! - opened up in the area. That's something you don't see... ever, anymore, so I thought it was an interesting move. The FUNLAND ARCADE was open for business with air hockey, pool tables, and top arcade machines like NBA Jam and Mortal Kombat 4.

Predictably, the place is already closed.
That's pretty sad.

There's an incredible arcade here in Portland which came up with a perfect formula for success- it's an arcade full of old-school arcade games (yes NBA Jam and Street Fighter is included) but the upstairs is composed entirely of pinball and I believe one or two dance games, and the bottom floor has all the consoles as well as a bar stocked with a veritable fuckton of beers and wine coolers/malt beverages for the girls (no liquor, sadly). It's wildly successful and they have DJs and bands play on the weekends there as well, so it's a pretty well known "spot" for people to go to.

Here's a current list of games. More people should follow their business model.

Anyone who uses Mininova, well, you can't no more.

It's been converted to a legit site and all copyrighted stuff is gone.

I can't see that link at work...Theater of Magic, the pinball game? I can't tell you how many quarters I sank in to that bad boy.

Random question: The Wii is hooked up to a standard def TV, I think the TV was manurfactured in either 2003 or 2004. It does have 1 set of component cable outlets. Do you think I'd notice a difference at all if I picked up some comp. cables even though it's not an HDTV? Some of the Gamestops around here have used comp cables, officialy Nintendo ones, I'm thinking about picking some up today.

Although I used it, I never liked it. It took too damn long to load up pages once you'd started downloading something.

I'm on the hunt for a Gamecube controller. Is the Gamestop wireless model decent enough or should I just keep looking for a real Nintendo one?

Honestly, the Wii doesn't look much better with component cables, even on an HDTV. On some larger televisions, some games can even appear more blocky and pixelated than they would with A/V cables.

Yeah pinball. I sank a shitload of coins in Theatre of Magic they had at my college, but nothing compares to the amount of time and money I spent on Scared Stiff.

Turn out the lights, it's time to get SCARED STIFFFFFF!

I went on a right nerd trip today and downloaded 30gb worth of Computer Game OST...

For those interested I got them from here: http://www.ost-center.fr/

Its in French, but its easy to navigate and download (most are via free/megaupload/rapidshare/etc sites). It has TV and Film OSTs too.

I love it all, not sure if its because it brings back the youth of if they are actually good tunes or what! Most Muse songs remind me of Computer Game music.

Ok, I totally admit that site is well worth it. We really need that site pinned or something. Awesome find. As I'm finding soundtracks for games I thought I never would. Mwahahahahaha...

Also, I just was recently playing Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation Endless Frontier and realized that its sequel, Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation Endless Frontier EXCEED, has a character named Neige Hausen. A lot of people have been speculating that she's a character from another world, but I just recently had played the game and realized that the castle in Northern Elfetale (I forgot what the castle's name is, sorry) was owned by King Howsen. Looks to me that it wasn't translated correctly in the original game, so that at least explains how she'll be tied into the original game.

Though probably Aldey will be the guy from the other world since it has been confirmed that another world would be in this game. And the two game's complete soundtracks will be released on the same day as Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation Endless Frontier EXCEED is.

And yes, I totally wrote out all those titles because they are just as ridiculous as the game is with taking itself seriously.
