I saw a lot of hype on some game sites for Bayonetta. I played the demo this evening and I was not exactly impressed.

There's a thread comparing the two somewhere around here. I picked up 2k10 but the frame rate issues put me off it, I think they've since patched it so it might be worth playing now.

Yeah, the patch fixed that. Installing the game to the HDD works wonders, too.

I heard that Live was pretty good this year, but 2K has put out the better game over the past few years so they have the track record.

Probably pick it up on the cheap in the new year if you think its decent.

Lots of people are unfairly dissing it because of the fanservicey aspects, but that's not all there is to it. Oneechanbara and X-Blades are rightfully ignored because their gameplay is trash and they're completely coasting on their sleaze.

It has shades of DMC, Viewtiful Joe, and a bit of God Hand. There's the capability of racking up insane combos, but it's much more user-friendly than the DMC titles. Plus there's the ridiculous super/finishing moves and the rewarding dodge-heavy defensive system.

However, there's still the easy-control mode if the main control method strikes you as a bit too complex.

Is there anything particular you didn't like about it? Just curious.

So, there's a spoiler article on IGN about Mass Effect 2. Being the type of person who hates waiting for Christmas morning and has very little patience, I checked it out.

Shepard dies in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Normandy gets shot out from under him and he dies saving Joker's brittle ass. Shep is then cloned by Cerberus, giving you a chance to change his class and features, while also giving a plausible reason to reset all his skills while still making your choices from Mass Effect 1 important, since apparently everyone still thinks it's the original Shepard.

It's a bit of a mind fuck, but I suppose it's a reasonable enough explanation into the first couple of teaser trailers.

He plays some absolutely terrible games because they're easy achievements. I can't imagine a gamer score meaning that much.

Kotaku had a post about some single mom who is the highest ranking female achievement player.

The whole thing is sketchy as fuck and full of losers, in my opinion. They work as a team, swap shitty games so they all don't have to pay for them, and actually map out which achievements are easiest to get. Then it's merely 8-10 hours of playing a day just to hit all the achievements.

What's the point?
