Hey Broward, is it a total Devil May Cry ripoff like I heard? I was looking through the bargain bins at one of the other GameStops in town (fuckers didn't have Dragon Warrior VIII even though they had the box!) and one of the guys there said not to buy it because it was basically a reskinned DMC. To be honest I haven't bothered checking out Bayonetta so I was curious about your opinion.

1. Gamestop guys don't necessary know shit. BTW, never take anything that asshole says seriously again.
2. How can a game be a "ripoff" when the creator is the *creator* a series it is supposedly ripping off? It's like playing Bioshock and bitching that it reminds you of System Shock too much.
3. No it isn't a ripoff, because the only thing that carries over between them is the combat philosophy of racking up high combos for higher scores.
4. If it actually was a ripoff, that would hardly be a bad thing, because DMC was fucking awesome, even if the 2nd and 4th games sucked (and Kamiya had nothing to do with DMC3, although it is a good game--but only buy/play the Special Edition).

The demo gave me more of a Viewtiful Joe in 3D feel than DMC, though. Stringing together combos is way more user-friendly than DMC, I feel, plus the finishing moves are very satisfying.

Has anyone played or known anything about Rogue Warrior? I thought it could be interesting a while back and thought about picking it up on sale now but the few things I've seen sound like it isn't so good. Guess I will just wait until it drops even further but if anyone can tell me anything in greater detail than 1/5 stars like I've been seeing, I'd appreciate it.

Lots of stars but there's some discussion.
tl;dr version: Rourke swears in every line, the game's really short and multiplayer options are as thin as the online playerbase. Not worth $60.

Cool. Thanks for the review. I rarely ever pay full price for a game. I saw this one on sale for $40 but between my backlog and what I heard, I'll wait for it to drop more.

Apparently a Gamestop employee was so bored he doodled a custom box art for a disc-only used copy of Guitar Hero Van Halen.

And it's awesome. At first I loved the back of the box most...but...take a look at the third guy on the front of the box art...

I don't think he's in Van Halen...but he does look familiar...

I DO CO-CAAAAAAAAAAAINE!!!

I really can't wait to play Darksiders, ive been longing for a hack'n'slash since I completed Fable 2, and Brutal Legend while completely awsome, let me down in that aspect.

Think its time to start trading some of my back cat in haha, I've still got to buy Uncharted 1&2 on the PS3! I like the look at Darksiders, but its came out of no where for me, so I think can I can wait for it and grab it 2nd hand/sale.

Thank Jeebus for GameFly is all I can say.

Like they'll actually send me these games when they come out instead of having to wait two months.

I actually canceled my GameFly this week because I haven't been playing those games due to my backlog. Still had to fight the urge to do the Bayonetta/Darksiders deal where you get a $40 gift card. Figured it would pay off my MAss Effect 2 for the most part but I backed out last minute because I just have way too much right now.

Well im 2hrs into it, and randomly took a notion to play Oblivion.

You play as the horseman known as War, and gets accused of breaking the rules of the Three Kingdoms (Hell, Heaven and Humanity) and get sentanced to death. So cue War deciding to stop the Destroyer and if he fails then the councils will, shall be done anyway, so its win win.

The council agrees and asign you to "the watcher" which is basicly Midna/Navi from the zelda series, only voiced by Mark Hamill in Joker mode.

Then its off to recover all the powers, and make your way to the Destroyer.

The combat is exactly like fable, aka spam X to win, however after you have inflicted enough damage, the B button flashes over the enemy and its your finishing move.

Now, the lock on which i have problems with involve holding the LB button and you automaticly target the nearest enemy. To move through targets you wiggle the Right Stick. All this is fine when there are 1 or 2 enemys, but before i quit i was facing near 10 or so, and two of them where high powered fire belly'd cunts. Every time i tried to take out the weaker enemys to concentrate on the cunts, i kept getting attacked because i had to cycle through all the enemys.

Blocking is also a bit nasty, as it is the same button as Dash aka RB. You have to stand perfectly still and hold RB to block, the slightest movement of the Left Stick = you dash away which can land you in hot water.

All in all i was enjoying the game alot. Money is accumlated by releasing souls by killing baddies and cars/bus stops/lamp posts/bins etc etc.

Blue = cash for trading where you can buy new combos, health etc
Yellow = Rage meter, which allows you to unleash a powerful attack
Green = Health.

For anyone who gets the game, there are plenty of zombified humans around, and if you grab them with B you either smash them to the ground or squeeze their heads to death for a small health boost.

Saw it at Best Buy today... had no idea it was out already. Looks fun but I'm just too strapped for video game time.

A friend of mine swears to everything holy that Lunar: Dragon Song for the DS is great. While it looks OK for a DS title, the fact that your characters attack enemies at random in battle, takes a LOT away from this one. There are some other flaws, but IMO that's the biggest one.

I played Civ4 last night for the first time in literally years and yeah, I got about 2.5 hours of sleep before coming in to work this morning. That game has some horribly addicting properties, and this excruciating experience today has me remembering exactly why I don't do MMORPGs.

But seriously, Civ4 (I've got the expansion packs Warlords and Beyond the Sword) is a great game. Anyone else play it?

I love it, even after playing the previous 3 for an obscene amount of time.

Civ4 is one of my all time favorites, except since I upgraded to Windows 7 (64 bit) I can't play it...anyone else have issues?

Based on the demo, Dark Void is going to suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. The controls are not so great, and the shooting aspect is as bad as it looks. Weaksauce.

I haven't installed it on my new computer which has 64 bit Windows 7, I'll give it a try.

Seems to work fine on my machine, although I didn't play for that long.

I remember playing the original Civ and just irrigating everything in sight, even the tiles I didn't use.

haha aye, I remember doing that too. Also building railways EVERYWHERE, but I don't do that as much now since its like a direct line of attack for my enemies to use against me - bastards. Surely the ticket inspectors would have guns?

This is the worst RPG ever made probably. You lose HP if you run.
