Am I the only one here giving Tiger Woods Online a shot? It's ridiculously good, all things considered. I needed something called Unity but I already had it, so there wasn't even a download for it on my end. Everything's on Super settings & it's a five second load from the scorecard to the video for the next hole, no lag whatsoever...get in before all this goes to shit, folks.

Fun fact:

The guy who wrote the handbook for Unity, is helping develop the Dudebro game I'm currently composing music for!

I'm very hesitant to buy MLB2k10 after what an abortion 2k9 was. I'm not sure I ever played a full 9 inning game without discovering another bug I hadn't seen yet.

I didn't even play 2K9 yet. 2K8 was so awful. I liked 2K7 enough but even when I broke that out the other night, it was pissing me off and I didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered.

This is what pissed me off about the exclusive licenses on baseball and football games. I liked 2K5 Football better than Madden, which of course got the exclusive. I liked MVP 2005 better than the 2K Baseball. I'm glad NBA didn't have the exclusivity because I love my 2K basketball and even though it is always rated better, I know a lot of people that still get Live because of the name and fear that would've been the one to stay.

I was happy with the 2k series until 9. 6 7 and 8 were all enjoyable. (Don't even get me started on the DS version though, christ it's been three years and I still want my $19.99 back plus compensation for my mental damages.) 9 was just a major step, or perhaps several dozen major steps backwards, and I'm cautiously optimistic that 10 will right the ship, so to speak. I'll probably end up getting 2k10, but if it's awful like last year be officially done with the series forever, regardless of how awesome some future 2k game might be.

Oh but they did bring back the freebies this year! You get a free Fathead jr. of one of eight players. Beats the Jose Reyes bobblehead from 2k8 anyway.

Yeah, I saw the Fathead Jr. If anyone thinks they are going to get it on release, Amazon is doing one of their $10 giftcards with it too. So you get $10 for a future game and the Fathead offer is good wherever you get it. I'm just hesitant. I picked up 2K9 when I got it for like $20 in July but still never played it. I really hope they do it right this year and I think the past few years with all the backlash from shipping the game out buggy the past few years with patches a while after release, they'd be smart to put a little more effort in.

Roommate bought it and returned it within 4 hours. We tried playing a head to head game but our biggest problem was that you can't get the pitch locater to disappear. Seems like a stupid little thing but when it's something you can do on an older game it's frustrating. Add in the shitty fielding and baserunning and you have a pretty poor experience.

The only saving grace was the commercials:

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

I'd kill to have the gameplay be as good as it is in Madden, though. Still... very fun game.

This is what ruined NCAA Football 2010 for me completely. It's really amazing how horrible the gameplay is.

To add to this

Jon St. John is now doing the voice of Dudebro, his previous credits? Oh he was only the voice of DUKE NUKEM! This game started off as a joke on GAF, and is now taken a life of its own. I'm amazed they've let me do some of the music :D

That's what I'm wondering, yo.

Anyhow, I need to kill some time so I'm listening to James Rolfe read the entire "Worlds of Power" novelization of Mega Man 2.

Myspace now consists almost entirely of bands, since they can put a page up that can be viewed by non-members, which is harder to do on other social network sites.

My girlfriend almost had a stroke when she heard about that a while back. She's about to go crazy waiting for that and Epic Mickey.

Anyone played MAG yet? It looks kind of cool, but I've heard mixed things about it.

There's a 3 part video review at giantbomb that's just a couple guys sitting & playing the game; I thought it was pretty informative as far as video reviews go (i.e. I liked it more than the usual "Guy stands there & talks, and then you get cutscenes of the most action-packed parts while the guy keeps talking to explain the game" review, as it showed the mundane stuff like respawn timers, traveling from a spawnpoint to the action, stuff that makes up a lot of the time you spend in the game that's usually ignored in reviews).

Picked up Battlefield: Bad Company late last week. Fun game, decent enough, but I wouldn't say it's in the same tier as MW2. I've talked to people who have called the BF series superior to the COD series, specifically those two games, but I wouldn't necessarily say that. The weapons choices and tactical choices in MW2 make it a more fulfilling experience to play, whereas the length of the campaign of BF: Bad Company makes it almost a little more fun to play. About even, but I'll give MW2 the edge.

I finally left the Stone Age and switched to Firefox. Like night & day there. Next step is to dump MySpace and AIM cuz I'm not getting any activity on either.

I tried Chrome, but I didn't care much for it. Just wish Firefox's Java plugins weren't so buggy. The dropdown menus in "My Ebay" don't work, and Pandora radio will always lock up if an add shows up in the background. Both of these problems work fine in IE.

I only talk to 2 people on AIM. One is my girlfriend, and the other is a girl in San Francisco that I've been talking to for over 10 years. I think the instant message programs are all pretty much dead.

I'm giving Chrome a go right now after being reminded. It seems a lot better than the early builds and I'm happy extensions are finally in, and it's a lot faster than Firefox, of course, but it needs NoScript, along with a few other extensions before I switch permanently.
