Played a bit of the Battlefield Bad Company 2 demo last night. It was decent, and I enjoy the destructable environements, but in terms of leveling up and control scheme, MW2 isfar superior.

I have to use IE at work and for some reason no amount of history, cookie, and cache clearing will remove "www.therealtsm.com" from the address bar. Any other website leaves, but this one is permanently there to be auto-completed when a t is typed.

I want to get rid of this. Any ideas?

In Firefox I can delete web addresses that auto complete by highlighting them and hitting delete. Have the TRTSM come up in the address bar and try hitting delete.

If you're a fan of NCAA Basketball like I am, then you might be dismayed to learn that this year is probably the last one. It appears its low sales have finally caught up with it and EA has quietly dropped it from its lineup of sports games. It might still come out but it doesn't look good.

There are 16 people from my friends list online right now.

The breakdown is:

Modern Warfare 2 - 4
Bioshock 2 - 2
Mass Effect 2 - 1
Assassin's Creed 2 -1
Dragon Age - 1
Borderlands - 1
Left 4 Dead - 1

There are 2 people watching Netflix and 2 people watching other videos via their console. One person on the dashboard.

...

SequelMANIA. New Games aplenty (and Thoth being weird)

I saw a headline on Yahoo about people being mad that Dante's Inferno doesn't look like it did in the Superbowl ad. Was I the only one paying attention to the "simulated gameplay images" text on the screen? Come on people.

I'm thinking he means the commercials for FFVIII that pretty much consisted solely of FMVs from the game, and they were rendered a whole hell of a lot better than the PS1 could do it. I don't remember there being any big uproar about it, I just remember a friend of mine sending me an IM after a commercial saying something about how they show the FMVs in the commercial at 128-bit while the Playstation does them at 64 or some other techno-babble.

But tell me more about these claims of rendering the ballroom FMV in real time, I never heard those.

Indeed, it was the advertising, if i remember correctly, here in the UK alot of people where pissed off because they belived they were misled during the advertising for what the game would look like.

If memory serves me right in my advanced age, there was an issue of EGM where someone made this claim. Further research shows it was an early PS2 tech demo.

Why would DI be singled out? Tons of these games do this anymore, and have been since, as mentioned, even the PS1 era. Plus, yeah, there was a disclaimer.

Complaining about this is an admission that you are a moron.

Ack! That game got old and repetitive to me very very quickly. Waaaaaaaay too much to do.

That's what I love about it. Its one of the few role playing games where you can actually create your own role in the game. Unlike other RPGs, in Elder Scrolls I can actually create a character. Games like Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Fallout etc. do it for me.

I honestly thought I would enjoy a game as deep and submersive as Oblivion, but I quickly realized that I didn't have the time nor the patience. :-\

I have that problem with certain games, like GTA. But for some reason the elder scrolls games, I can just dive into and lose myself. I'm not even a big fantasy/swords & sorcery guy.

Bioshock 2's multiplayer is surprisingly playable. The capture the little sister (basically capture the flag but when you move the little sister closer to the goal she stays there until you can try and grab her again) is a hoot.

A hoot and a half even.

OK, so how do I get rid of my deleted files on Quick Play? Let's say I take a photo using the webcam. I then delete the file, but it's still listed in the media library. The file isn't listed anywhere on my computer expect there. I restarted my computer, but that doesn't do anything. What do I do? And yes, I've tried looking it up, but no dice.

Sadly, between Fighters' Misery, Anya, and my own geekiness, I know of basically every single one of those games except for the PC-only ones.

VIOLENCE FIGHT is the best title for a fighting game, ever, though.

Marvel Nemesis isn't too bad, actually, even if the Imperfects' character designs suck.

Ultra Vortek: the only fighting game that has the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future.

Good Lord Time Slaughter looks like a homebrew game whipped together by a ten year old. That art is beyond horrible. It makes Time Killers look good. Supposedly it's just a joke, though. Or that's the excuse for it.

I never knew there was a Xena Powerstone clone. I knew that there was a Xena game for N64 alright, but I assumed it was just an action game. Silly me.

Fight for Life belongs on there more than any other 3D fighter ever, though.

Sounds like capture the meat flag in Gears 2. :p Presumably she doesn't shoot back at you, though.

I thought Evil Zone was really cool back in the 90s. Not a great fighter, but I thought the story mode of each fight being an anime episode was fun.

It dawns on me I could / should have posted that video in the VS. thread.

Actually, Evil Zone seems to have had a bit of a cult following. Hardcore Gaming 101 has an entry on it that is rather complimentary, and there is/was many shrines and fansites to it.

Hey bps21,

You're the only other person I know who has Bioshock 2. So far, I've only done the Survival of the Fittest mode, but I beat the campaign in a few days.

What are your overall thoughts of the game?

I enjoyed Bioshock 2, but as a whole, the game felt like it could have been DLC or an expansion pack. There wasnt anything really exciting, and dont get me started on the obvious flaws of being a big daddy and not having big daddy type health.
