They probably priced them that high (I wasn't expecting it to be above 279 for the cheapest model) because, fuck it, they'll sell out anyway. I bought an iPad 3 this summer, and while it kinda sucks that they upgraded it now I'm not exactly displeased with the performance of mine, so whatever.

Fuck. Would have waited on Borderlands 2, and bought it and WWE'13 just to get RE6 for free.

What's everyone's que looking like right now?

I'm playing Gears of War 3 (ton of fun) and I have Mass Effect 3 next. I also want to get Black Ops 2. I'm also slowly working on Skyward Sword. I get annoyed with the motion controls and stop playing for long periods of time.

After that I have a choice of games (my roommate has a ton):
-Witcher 2
-Kingdoms of Alamaur

What do you think I should add? I'm sure by the time I finish the other two something badass will come out that will replace those.

I'm playing through NFS Most Wanted and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward right now. I'm also planning on going back and getting the full 1000 on Sleeping Dogs (possibly getting the DLC) at some point.

I have nothing lined up for after that though, cause no matter what I decide to play next, I'll always wind up playing something else instead.

This is kind of how it is for me too at this point.

Plus there's always the off chance I get distracted by NCAA football and play it for 3 months straight to the exclusion of everything else. Happens all the time.

I try to avoid a backlog. I usually buy a new game only when I'm tired of the ones I already have. I even take the games I know I'll probably never play anymore out of my game rack and put them aside until I get around to boxing them up and trading them in to Amazon.

I think it's a combination of slight OCD and being really, really cheap. Though I did just get $100 in credit from my most recent trades so......

I am a backlog whore. I've got a pile of games I haven't started (examples: Gears of War 3, Enslaved, Battlefield 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations, The Force Unleashed 2) and a bigger pile of games I started and haven't gotten back to (The last Deus Ex, Dishonored, Max Payne 3, Prototype 2, Witcher 2 and then a ton more) and the small pile of things I'm actually playing now (Assassins Creed 3, Resident Evil 4, WWE 13, next week Halo 4).

It's a mess.

Between my digital pile and my phyiscal pile, I've got enough games to bury me in metaphorical cases for everything if all my games were in PS3 cases.

Right now I'm playing WWE 13 and Borderlands 2. I'll probably start Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Catherine, and the DMC HD Collection soon. I also grabbed Sonic Adventure and Nights HD recently. Plus there's always Pinball to play, and then Just Cause 2 which was free, and Darksiders, and Shadows of the Damned, and Jak 2 and 3, and PoP Warrior Within and Two Thrones, GoW Origins, the Tomb Raider Trilogy, X-Men Origins Wolverine, Hyperdimensia Neptunia, Amazing Spider-Man, Riddick, ModNation Racers, Beyond Good & Evil HD, PoP 2008, Disgaea 3, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, DNF, RAGE... I can keep going, actually.

Sad, huh?

I didn't even think about all the live arcade games I tinker with. It's a losing battle. Maybe I'll just skip the next generation of consoles and force myself to catch up lol

The majority of games I listed there were discs too. I think the only major games there that are digital were Darksiders, Catherine, ModNation, BG&E HD, and Just Cause 2. Oh, and the two Pinball games, Zen and Arcade.

See I want to do this, but for some reason I hate looking at a pitiful collection of games. I probably own about 10 360 games and 6 Wii games total. I haven't had to buy a game since my roommate moved in because he buys everything! And that was in June 2011.

I am afraid though that if I trade something in I'll get the urge to play it so that keeps me from trading old stuff in. Like I could probably trade Fable 3 and Red Dead Redemption in as I haven't played either in over a year and have beaten both soundly. But I know the minute I do I'll have an urge that can only be satisfied by building a kingdom or shooting banditos.

As a matter of fact the only games I actually own are:
360
-Red Dead
-WWE All-Stars
-Fable 3
-NCAA Football 13
-Halo 3 ODST
-Fallout New Vegas
-Gears 2 and 3
and I have NCAA 11 and 12 and Halo 1 and 2 to trade

Wii
-Fire Emblem
-Zelda Twilight Princess
-Zelda Skyward Sword
-Super Paper Mario
-Smash Brothers

Gamecube
-Zelda Ocarina of Time
-Fire Emblem

Man....I don't own many games. But my roommate and best friend are hardcore gamers that buy everything that comes out. So I usually just borrow there games. Of course my best friend has now become a PS3 disciple so I doubt he'll have any great new 360 games for me.

Do you know why I want a Wii U? So I can hook a Wii up to a TV with a HDMI cable and then force myself to finally play the two Zelda games I haven't got around to.

I'm actually pretty psyched about the TVii thing. They say it will work with all major cable companies (even Canadian ones). Can't believe that thing comes out in 2 weeks!

The Zone of Enders collection is supposedly broken. Especially Second Runner. Not as bad as the Silent Hill HD fiasco, but still inexcusable. Has anyone picked this up?

I guess I've decided to buy WWE 13 instead of Black Ops 2. I don't want to participate in the online cash grab for gaming companies that is online FPS games. I realized I don't have the time to get really good and so I'd just die a bunch and get cussed out by 14 year old kids. Plus I don't want to pay for extra maps and weapons. So I wouldn't be able to play with anyone because they'd all have spent money on the godfucker DLC weapon and new maps that they only want to play in.
Fuck gaming used to be so much simpler.
I realized this when I looked at the DLC for Gears 3 and saw that only one of them was a new mission (which i'd happily pay for) and the rest was extra maps, skins and weapons. Fuck that noise. I only get DLC if it's extra wrestlers, fighters or more story and missions.

I'm not a big fan of FPS games in the first place. I like open world games with character customization and leveling up like Fallout and Skyrim. Guess it reminds me of the RPG games I loved so much in high school back during Square's heyday.

What exactly happened with SHHD? I was thinking about picking it up for PS3.

Damn, looks like the PS2 version is FAR superior to the current-gen HD remake.

My grandma won a New Super Mario Bros. Wii bundle a couple years ago at a raffle. I already had a Wii, so I just took the NSMB game and left the rest to just collect dust in my room. Should've sold it a long-ass time ago, but anyways, what's my best bet for doing that? I also have a couple old unopened football games I can throw in.

Coworker's father-in-law is buying all of his grandkids (five of them) Wiis for Christmas. I told her either he thinks it's 2006 or he's buying them all Wii U consoles in which case he should win Grandfather of the year award. She said her money is on the former.

I paid for two of those things. Warden's Keep, which was obviously DLC if you read anything about the game prior, in Dragon Age.. And the redone Zombies maps for BO1, which they are way off base on, as well. Those were old maps, yes, but they were also retextured from the bottom up for Black Ops. That takes time and money to do, believe it or not.

I don't see what's absurd about it if you have disposable income to put down on it. Heck even the weapon skins, if there is a demand and it improves a persons game experience, even cosmetically, then why not?

Because I fear it getting to a point where they see people paying for this so much that I won't even really be able to fully play a game I bought off the shelf without downloading more. Companies will see people are willing to pay for anything and just start charging you out the ass to really play the game.
I fear playing some game in the future where I have to pay 1.99 extra to get the weapon I need to defeat a boss. I'm afraid in the future I'll only be spending $60 for the "basic" version of the game that kind of sucks and is incomplete.
An extreme and tongue in cheek example is Game Informer a few years back talking about having to buy the DLC of air for the football before you can actually play Madden.

Some of your fears sound like they are coming from a completionist who just wants to have every piece of content associated with the game. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I used to be like that. Now I just buy whatever DLC interests me and I leave the rest.

As far as the rest.. even in this fucked up money grubbing industry, I highly doubt that will ever happen. There is already huge backlash against free games where you "pay to win". If that ever happened with one of the standard $60 games, ie: the only weapon you can beat the boss with is paid DLC, then you can bet there would be a huge uproar over it. Hell, fans got Bioware to expand the ending of ME3 and that was already a part of the paid-for core game.

You either buy DLC or you don't. There's nothing making you pay for it but if $5 or even $10 is something you bitch about playing you need to rethink your finances.
