Some of your fears sound like they are coming from a completionist who just wants to have every piece of content associated with the game. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I used to be like that. Now I just buy whatever DLC interests me and I leave the rest.

As far as the rest.. even in this fucked up money grubbing industry, I highly doubt that will ever happen. There is already huge backlash against free games where you "pay to win". If that ever happened with one of the standard $60 games, ie: the only weapon you can beat the boss with is paid DLC, then you can bet there would be a huge uproar over it. Hell, fans got Bioware to expand the ending of ME3 and that was already a part of the paid-for core game.

Yeah I used to be a completionist. Not so much anymore because I just don't care about achievements like other people since I don't play games online. However, I do remember the days when you could unlock all that crap in the game by being good at it. Oh well those days are gone.

Like I said, I love DLC that gives me extra game content. Dawnguard is awesome. The DLC in Oblivion that added extra quests and another world were awesome. The Shadow Boss in ME2 was well worth what I spent on it.

I still think all of that stuff is there. Any good game worth it's salt has a solid stand alone game with a great experience.

I guess I should sell on Ebay or something, but I've never used it before. I'm definitely not going to Gamestop, where I'd probably end up getting $20 bucks out of it.

eBay is fairly rigid with its rules (at least it was when I sold a few things, many years ago; I had ads taken down for providing links to GameSpot reviews). And you have to use PayPal—between both services, they'll take something like 11-18% on video game stuff. And they're not particularly seller-friendly, as I understand it (you might have extra problems as a new member, too). And for something common like a Wii, you're gonna have competition working against you. And shipping won't exactly be cheap on a console.

I'd say check out local classifieds first, especially if you're in a bigger city. My local Kijiji page is pretty active, and I can generally sell stuff for a good price if I'm patient. Kijiji may also be branded as eBay Classifieds. I think Craigslist is generally bigger in most US locations.

If all you've done is picked NSMB Wii from the box, you can highlight that you've never used anything, and that might get you a better price. You could maybe throw in the football games as a bonus; unless they're oddly rare for some reason, I can't see old Wii sports games being worth more than $5-10 each.

With only 700 being made, I now know why I never saw one in a store.

I own "Black Label" Final Fantasy VII, and I had a set of the Gamecube Component Cables in 2009. BG Dark Alliance 2 is still readily available at Gamestops around here. Never would have guessed the Halo triple pack would have become a collectible.

I've got the GC component cables, and a banged-up black label FFVII. Err, black label FFVIII; Greatest Hits FFVII. For the cables, dudes should probably just buy a Wii and some $5 Monoprice cables, or use the Dolphin emlator. Unless I'm missing something.

I've also got a bunch of sealed things like MGS4 Limited Edition (just the regular one), Twilight Princess for GameCube, the full The Eye of Judgment package, Ocarina of Time/Master Quest for GC, OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast for Xbox (which is now on XBLA, but apparently still valuable), Zelda: Minish Cap, God Hand, Red Dead Redemption Limited (don't know that this is worth much of anything, given that it's just a cardboard sleeve, and maybe some DLC things that are readily purchasable now), Assassin's Creed II Limited... and probably some others I'm neglecting or unaware of.

Some video games got some damn good actors for their upcoming movies lately. Michael Fassbender is doing Assassin's Creed and Tom Hardy was cast as Sam Fischer in Splinter Cell.

I know they're movies but if I made a thread for it in there It would sink while we wait the year or more until they start coming out.

The lack of comments that don't warrant a thread in that folder continues to thwart me. As such I have nowhere to say that...you know what...I like Arrow. Not gonna make a thread about that since I haven't seen anyone mention the show once...so here we are.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/16/jailed-arma-devs-have-been-refused-bail/

Jailed ARMA devs have been refused bail

Detained ArmA 3 developers Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar have been denied an appeal against their espionage charges. Eurogamer, working off a translation of news site Rozhlas, reports the pair of Czech developers have now been held for over 70 days, waiting weeks longer to have their appeal heard due to a strike in the Greek legal system.

Developer Bohemia Interactive previously stated the two men were on vacation and were not there on official company business. The pair stated two months ago the incident was a "completely absurd misunderstanding."

The men are reportedly in a cell with over 25 people, sleeping on the ground. According to family members, the tone of their conversations with the men have changed to them asking to be saved. The Czech government claims it is doing what it can. Bohemia has set up a site to show support.

Honestly, what a massive clusterfuck. When did Greece turn into Thailand?

Stupid thing to bitch about: Raptr's time tracking sucks; if you play a game for more than an hour it seems to just round up to the next hour. It says I've put in something like 28 hours into Assassin's Creed 3 when the game clock says I finished it in about 19 (and I played the multiplayer tutorial). It used to be a lot more accurate than that. I know I'm wasting much of my time playing video games; they're just overinflating the numbers!

Raptr has me clocked at 15 hours for Arkham Asylum, whereas Steam (which would be accurate) has 25.1. The Walking Dead: 7 Raptr, 13 Steam. I've put 4+ hours into Just Cause 2 in the past few days, and Raptr hasn't figured out anything yet.

http://raptr.com It logs hours and achievements and depending on how hardcore you are and what kind of games you play you can even you can earn prizes, by say earning a certain level in one of a list of games you can get a free game or something like that, though it's not always that cool.

I haven't noticed a major problem with Raptor's hour tracking being off since the latest updates. My problem was a while ago they didn't update my achievements for a couple games I rented and they're stuck at a lower level than I actually got to.

So I booted up NHL 13 with the Revamped Roster file from Operation Sports and now it actually plays like it should! Its fun times. Its nice to see players actually reflected correctly now, instead of EA's bullshit.

The best thing to happen was I got rid of Smid and Hemsky with Anaheim's 2nd and my 3rd for two 4.5 rated prospect who both will be ready for next year and I got rid of Smyth and Andy Sutton (WHY?!) for a 1st.

The worst thing so far though is getting blanked and manhandled by the Kings. Fucking hell are they hard to beat.

The Microsoft Store had Forza Horizon for $15, but it sold out. Dammit.

Honestly there aren't any games I really want but I'll keep an eye out for deals.

Mentioned it in the Dishonored thread, but that's $25 on Amazon, and ACIII and X-Com are $35 apiece as well.

Amazon is going to match the $15 Forza tonight too (it was originally Wal-Mart's price). All but one game I was looking at from Microsoft sold out fast.

Who has FIFA 13? Is it worth it? Black Friday Amazon for 35 bucks
If you liked 12, 13 is a second year with the new physics engine, so it'll play better.

Also, I scrapped my Edmonton Oilers GM thing for the job of being the Columbus Blue Jackets and trying to make them relevant. Hard task, but I managed to sell off my 2nds and 3rds for 3 years, RJ Umberger, and Fedor Tyutin to bring in Jerome Iginla, Kimmo Timonen and Martin St. Louis. Should be awesome right?

Its not. Jerome Iginla and Martin St. Louis have FOUR points between. Add in Brandon Dubinsky's meager 5 and my top line has 9 points through 6 games! >_< Making me regret trading all those draft picks. Oh well, at least I kept my firsts at least.

I took over the Leafs in '13. Traded for Luongo and Zach Bogosian among others and doing pretty well. I'm going to miss all those draft picks though. Ryan Miller isn't on Sabres anymore, which is very helpful.

Forza is back in stock. Just ordered it. I enjoyed the Forza demo and it seems to have a bit more to the single player than NFS did.

EDIT: Holy shit, Amazon's 8:10 Lightning Deals are almost gone already.

Pretty much every amazon lightning deals seems to sell out in seconds. I think on a lot of them people are just waiting for the button to pop up and adding them, then looking at the price and deciding if it's worth it, because you literally don't have time to look at the price and decide if you want that before the majority of deals are hitting 100%.

I picked up the Forza Horizon from your link so thanks. I had it in my hand for 60 and thought...well I'm getting Halo and Black Ops 2 and Assassin's Creed 3 so I guess this can wait for a price drop. 45 dollars a couple weeks later is a hell of a price drop.

Snagged the PS3 bundle on Amazon last night; it sold out pretty quickly, but the quickest sellout I saw was fucking Brave Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack for $8.96; it was ridic.

Saw plenty of Wal Mart's 8:00pm game deals still available tonight when I went through, so you might still be able to pick some up if you have an out of the way Wal Mart in your area.

I'd be very interested in seeing how many copies Max Payne 3 has sold this week. It was priced dirt cheap everywhere ($9 at KMart on Thursday, $15 at Walmart Thursday and Friday, $10 at the Microsoft store today) and no one has been able to keep it in stock. The game was a bit of a flop when it released and it seemed like a 4th game was unlikely, but I thought it was really well done. Maybe just getting it into so many hands will create enough interest to lead to a sequel.

My Black Friday deals from Amazon:

Gran Turismo 5 XL for $10
Borderlands 2 for $20
Uncharted 3 for $10 ($15 but I had a $5 Amazon coupon for reading some webcomic)
Doom 3 BFG Edition for $20
God of War Saga for $15
And a 3-month XBL Gold card for $11. I have my brother's old 360 with a broken disc drive but otherwise it still works, and I want to use it for HBO Go, but that requires Gold even though it's free everywhere else, and I can't justify paying for a free service, so I picked up this card and I'm going to wait to activate it until there's a Gold-only deal I'm interested in that saves me $11 so that the subscription pays for itself.

I'm really bummed that Amazon charges sales tax now. That used to be its greatest advantage over going to an actual store but it's over now. Thanks, Obama. ;)

Tech, if you claim it, you get 15 minutes to decide if you want it. So I usually just click them and let them drop to the wait list people if I don't want it at that price. But amazon prices are really hard to top Black Friday week.

And yeah, if a game sells out when cheap, it still can get a second game made. Hell, Army of Two is on the THIRD game for being a discount major seller since it is still counting as units moved. I don't know anyone who bought any of the Army of Two series when they were 60 but for 20, they sell out quick.
