October 14th is the season premiere with Pete Davidson hosting and Ice Spice as musical guest. We are old now.

October 21st has Bad Bunny pulling double duty as host & MG. Hope he is as good at sketch comedy as he is at rasslin!

Only addition is Chloe Troast as featured player. Rest of the cast is returning from last season.

I was surprised when they were getting the new kid treatment last season. Sherman has been an MVP, and JAJ is the goddamn former, and current president on the show.

Pretty forgettable first episode back.

Although I always love the pranking Jost jokes with the Michael Che setups.

This is the kind of host I want to see with the SAG strike. He is an amazing stand up but I am curious how he does in sketches since I have never seen him act.

Finally they figured out the only people watching the show are 37 year old white men Sunday morning on their phone during their kids soccer game.

I saw Nate a week and a half ago and it was honestly the biggest assemblage of people who look and dress like me I have ever been in.

Man they really over did it on cameos this week with Jagger, Lady Gaga, Pascal and Armisen but I thought Bad Bunny did well enough with what they gave him. Better than the premiere for sure.

Scarlett has to be least memorable five time host. Only thing notable SNL related about her hosting stints is that she married one of the Weekend Update anchors. Jonah Hill is a pretty forgettable five timer but he at least had one recurring character.

Oh. I guess I should have just “born later than me” and saved myself a lot of confusion.

I just looked it up and it may be hard to believe since he was already grey but Steve Martin was only 32 years old as well when he joined the five timers club. His stats are padded though since that was era when Lorne thought nothing of bringing a host back 2-3 seasons.

Ykw? Bring that era back. I’d like to see what John Mulaney could do if they brought him back twice in one year over some flavor of the month that is just promoting their latest project.

They should. It'd make the non recurring hosts a bigger deal.

Bring back giving comedians a set here and there, too. It helped the pacing a lot during the weaker times.

Good lord. Sandler better count his blessings that this didn’t happen. ‘94 Roseanne at the height of her unlikability (hrm… to that point) would have killed “The Chanukah Song” and ensured that there wouldn’t be a mediocre to poor animated film adaptation 8-9 years later.

Not really despite Eight Crazy Nights being one of my least favorite Sandler movies. Not the worst. It didn’t just live up to potential that Adam Sandler’s Rover Dangerfield or a wacky Chanukah movie had in my head.

Also the ‘02 update of “The Chanukah Song” has him insulting Tom Arnold then retracting it. It looks like he wanted to play both sides of the Roseanne Vs Tom Arnold beef.

Speaking of random multiple time hosts, it’s insane that Tom Arnold hosted three times. I get the time with Roseanne and the time in the early ‘90s but his ‘96 show really screams “Why the hell is this guy hosting again!?”

Well, actually at least two out of three are OK to good for ‘90s nostalgia purposes but I think they bombed and seemed like the type of movies Lorne would run away from promoting.

Looked it up on Wikipedia and all three did bomb wicked bad. Big Bully made $2 million on a $15 million budget, Carpool did $3.3 million on a $17 million budget, and The Stupids did $2.5 million on a $25 million budget.

No wonder why Lorne wanted nothing to do with him after ‘96.

Will Ferrell has a great anecdote in LFNY where Lorne repeatedly warned him the Sunday or Monday before the show that it was going to be a bad show and Tom Arnold was going to be horrible to work with but like, YOU BOOKED HIM. Honestly, that is one of those instances where Lorne sounds really similar to work with as VKM.
