Their major sin is being both unremarkable and still kind of amusing for what they were. Letterman-era Chris Elliott of bands.

"ME!" by Taylor Swift is possibly the worst song ever recorded. It's top three, possibly two for me. I have to leave the room.

Didn't need to hear Dave Matthews covering Joni Mitchell, though somebody blasting "Man in the Box" in the parking lot is nice ("We Die Young" is the best song on that album)

There's a Dave Matthews cover? Or do you mean Counting Crows?

Gorillaz busting out "Cracker Island" is the best random song in months. Oh shit. And that said I don't fucking like this world where Gorillaz are listed as adult contemporary.

Same.

We have to go back to the bullshit radio and our time with the actual ability to like and dislike gave us a very superior algorithm, but "Believe" is one of the few that snuck in even after I blocked it.

That song was playing at a coffee shop I was in about a week ago. I forgot it existed until then.

Gotta give Cher props though for having a hit song in 1998 even if it's littered with autotune.

The brief window my school thought Cher and Blondie were cool was surreal.

And speaking of Blondie, "Maria" is good still.

"Don't Worry Be Happy" is fucking awful.

Kpop has no business in a workplace.

Ed Sheeran. Find that guy. You know what to do. You know what to do.

I could get into that, honestly. It's goofy enough to appeal to me.

The Kpop thing is much more about the people reacting to it, though. It's comically divisive with certain customers.

"I Don't Wanna Wait (For Our Lives to be Over)" is not something I wanted to hear today, nor was "Closer to Free" by the BoDeens

Since we got the control over the various stations back, I've used any time no one is around to manipulate the algorithm. As few of the same songs I've heard for the last two years as possible, as little 70s easy listening as possible ("Key Largo" or "I Write The Songs" are the worst), no Taylor Swift, as much random 80s and 90s as I can swing with most of whatever the adult alternative station is-- there's an agenda. When the main radio over the store speakers is turned on, as it is all the same system, the algorithm goes fucking nuts and gets great while the actual stations we can control improve exponentially for me who is a hateful monster who wants to accentuate the powers of the sound system we're selling.

That said why the fuck is "Believe" on four times a day now? And why is "Tuff Enough" on three times? And more importantly why is a rotation of Lumineers, Cannons, 21 Pilots, and everyone from Grease?

Oh Christ this is reminding me of when "Grease" was celebrating it's 20th anniversary and I had to hear the soundtrack all the time. "Hopelessly Devoted" is a great song though.

Grease stuff is fine in significant moderation. Basically "Summer Lovin'" or "You re The One That I Want" bimonthly at most.

Also speaking of Olivia Newton John, "Physical" is pretty rank.
