Apparently it has been clarified that these are worst case scenario projections. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/192195/Sony_tells_us_whats_going_on_with_the_PlayStation_Vita.php

Either way, as much as I don't see Sony as a player in handheld systems, I can't see them ditching the Vita regardless since remote play for every game on PS4 has been a huge talking point for that console since it was announced.

My main reason for not leaping and getting the Vita is due to still feeling the sting of my £200 PSP which I imported from Japan when they initially released the white one. Only reason I really still have it is because of crisis core and kingdom hearts.

And you can't play either of those games on a Vita because they never got a digital release and are UMD only. Which is the case for like 90% of my PSP collection. Rabble rabble rabble.

I just received my official Playstation Credit Card in the mail. The interest rate is a little on the ridiculous side, but no annual fee and they give you a free year of PS+ and $50 PSN credit after your first purchase. Also earns Sony Rewards points on every purchase. Pretty crazy deal if you plan on paying off your balance every month and avoiding the interest charges.

Was it hard to get? I need to build up credit and so far my normal bank has turned me down on the grounds of "not having enough accounts open to establish credit"

I am still blown away that Chase declined my application for an Amazon.ca Visa. I have zero debt, amazing credit from my understanding of my last credit check and the only credit card I have is an RBC Visa with a near $20K credit limit (something I would never even come close to approaching or needing). Like, what the fuck, Chase?

I had read a lot of people saying they got rejected and it was really tough to get approved, but I didn't have an issue with it at all. Kind of strange based on the other experiences I was reading because I have a pretty limited credit history (car loan since last April, started paying off student loans last May, got my first credit card in July). I figured it was worth a shot even though I was expecting to be rejected. Instead I got instantly approved with a $5,000 limit. My other card is also from Capital One (which may help here), but it only has a $750 limit.

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/29/rumor-sony-making-remote-play-mandatory-with-ps4/

If a new report is to be believed, it looks like nearly all PlayStation 4 games will be required to support Remote Play on the PS Vita. The rumor comes courtesy of "a trusted PlayStation 4 developer source" to Eurogamer, who states Sony is mandating Remote Play on all PS4 games that don't require the PS4 Eye camera.

Sony certainly made a big deal of PS4's Gaikai-fueled Remote Play during the console's announcement event. Today's report also jives with previous statements from Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida. Back in February, Yoshida told Engadget that Sony was requesting all developers test their games on Remote Play before submitting them for certification, though he made no mention of a mandate.

Of course, the Vita doesn't have as many inputs as a DualShock 4, though Yoshida noted that developers can create custom control schemes for the Vita that make use of contextual buttons on its touch screen.

Update: Yoshida has confirmed on Twitter that all PS4 games will indeed feature PS Vita Remote Play. Says Yoshida, "Yes, it's true unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera. It will be great to play PS4 games on PS Vita."

Pretty much. Though I am glad it will have some kind of use outside of what I had originally bought it for. Right now I'm just using it for classic games and whatnot. I only own like 2 actual Vita games (MK & SFxTK). =\

For those of you who liked Tales of Symphonia and its sequel New Dawn, the game is being re-released for the PlayStation 3 as a combined package called Tales of Symphonia: Unisonant Pack. New cut scenes added, new costumes and other things will be included.

Why did I mention this? Because its not a Japan only like you'd normally think. It'll be coming to the rest of us in 2014.

I'd be much more excited for this if there was a Vita version so I could finally have a portable version of ToS.

If there was a portable version, it would be 2 different games at full prices. And frankly, I'm hoping New Dawn actually has a full overworld and gets a big upgrade considering they are upgrading everything else.

Not to say I'm not with you though. ToS + portable? Mine. So simply mine.

...though I need to buy a new Vita since mine broke and I missed the deadline to get it fixed for free.

Random question that popped in my head after seeing "Tales of Symphonia".

Does anyone remember a game for I think the Playstation 1, might have been a PS2 launch title where you in control of a symphonic band? It was an anime looking conductor, and it was a rhythm based game where you had to hit Square/X/Triangle/O in time with the music. I remember a demo but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called?

Speaking of music games. Does anyone remember the time traveling music fantasy game, on I think the PS2(not sure on that), that required the use of a really wonky controller?

Because after fazzle brought that up, it was the first game I could think of. But a lot of it eludes me. I think it was one of the earlier PS2 games. Anyone remember this game?

Anyone else remember Guitaroo-Man? I think I was one of about 7 people to actually buy it when it first came out.

Early in the Guitar Hero craze, when I didn't know what it was, I thought that's the game people were referencing.

No it wasn't Fantavision, though I do remember playing that game. Hm... Gods, this is driving me nuts.

Ephemeral Fantasia is the name fo the game! Finally came to me. Interesting game that had a lot of neat concepts, but was woefully executed. The team who made it was way too ambitious with it. The game is quite difficult because there was no way to tell what you needed to do to trigger the next scene or which person you needed.

This is one of those games I would like to see remade, because I liked the concept of it. It was the limited edition that game with the musical-like controller. Not sure why that game was the one that came to mind though...

Yay: After talking with Smues and realizing Pinball Arcade was free for PSN+ members, and deciding this bankruptcy court issue with getting DLC to the Xbox version is going nowhere, I grabbed the big DLC pack and the game.

Boo: PSN Store selling unupdated versions of games that require updates out of the downloadable box. Not a huge deal for minor patchwork, but Pinball Arcade needed an almost half gig update (maybe it was just trying to transfer the DLC since that is a very large patch size) and it keeps stalling at 79%, making the game unplayable.

Can you sign out and just play w/o the update? Or is it one of those mandatory ones?

In this case it said it was mandatory. Actually, I was playing The Show earlier today and it also needed to update and apparently it failed (my download status showed an incomplete download of 97% with a "!" on it) without an issue but this PA won't start-up without it.
