Star Wars Thread II: A Lack of the Posts

The addition of Vader's "Noo!" makes it clear he hates Star Wars, or at least the fans.

People hated it when Vader said "Nooo!" in the prequel trilogy. People hated it when he added the scream to Luke's fall in Empire (Because Luke had just decided of his own free will to NOT join Darth Vader, and take the only way out - down. Why would he scream like a baby?). Hell, people hated the addition of the Luke scream so much he took it out later on. So he's taking one thing we hated from the prequels, and adding it to something we hated from the special editions.

I have no idea why he thinks people wouldn't hate this. He must be fucking with us. There's no other explanation.

$5 says we get a version of RotJ where Luke pulls the mask off of Vader to reveal Hayden Christensen's CGI'ed-in face, complete with CGI eyebrow and hair removal. Then he'll scream "Noooooooooo!" as Luke drags him on the shuttle.

Much like those videos that were floating around before the DVD release of everything and everyone Han ever shot shooting first, I fully expect someone to dub a NOOOOOOO over every scene that involves Vader.

Tarkin: Vader, release him!
Vader: NOOOOOOOO
*continues to choke*
Tarkin: Vader, release him!
Vader: NOOOOOOOO
*continues to choke*
Tarkin: Vader, release him!
Vader: NOOOOOOOO
*continues to choke*

and continue looping for ten minutes and you have a hot YouTube sensation

At least Lando pulling down his mask finally makes sense.

Supposedly Vader now yells "NO....NNNOOOOOOOOOO!" before tossing Palpatine down the shaft in RotJ.

Supposedly? Read the previous page of posts. The clip is posted. That's what my entire post was about.

I think you missed a part of this thread.

Thirteen pages eh? The prequels ranged from terrible to worst movie I've ever seen contender, while the originals are okay but pretty flawed.

Nostalgia is a helluva drug.

Thirteen pages on the most popular film series ever? I'd say that's to be expected, but then again STOP LIKING THINGS THAT I DON'T LIKE

“These current defacements are just the beginning. Today, engineers with their computers can add color to black-and-white movies, change the soundtrack, speed up the pace, and add or subtract material to the philosophical tastes of the copyright holder. Tomorrow, more advanced technology will be able to replace actors with ‘fresher faces,’ or alter dialogue and change the movement of the actor’s lips to match. It will soon be possible to create a new ‘original’ negative with whatever changes or alterations the copyright holder of the moment desires….

In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be ‘replaced’ by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten…. Attention should be paid to the interest of those who are yet unborn, who should be able to see this generation as it saw itself, and the past generation as it saw itself.”

Titanic did pretty well at the box office too, but we don't have a thirteen page thread for that. Same goes for a bunch of other shitty movies that are really popular.

It's not about liking things that I don't like, don't be BUTThurt just because I DON'T LIKE SOMETHING YOU LIKE. It's just legitimate surprise at seeing people who are not virgins (either children or socially awkwards adults) liking something that's half-mediocre and half-crap. It's kind of funny because a lot of posts in this thread point out all the flaws, like the wooden acting, plot holes, shitty directing, etc. But it's all ignored because of, well, I don't know. I guess this movie just has a fondness in your hearts because you saw it in a more innocent time in your life.

Yes.

But all the movies have a freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so I guess I should STFU.

I'll be honest, I've kinda gotten over Star Wars ever since I started this thread, which I only did as a service to the board due to the old Star Wars thread being popular on the old board.

Maybe you should start a thread about Titanic, and we can get a variety of opinions, Cobra Kai Master. I'm sure everyone on the board saw it, but did they like it???

Actually considering your namesake why didn't you ever start a thread on the Karate Kid series, or at least the first one? Elizabeth Shue's appearance on Curb marks a full three decades of hotness since the first time we saw her give a full generation of teenage boys something to fantasize about (before the internet and easily accessible and widely themed porn ruined sex forever). The spawning of that great achievement certainly warrants a thread.

80's: Elizabeth Shue in Karate Kid
90's: Elizabeth Shue whore in Leaving Las Vegas
00's: Elizabeth Shue in Hamlet 2 as hot nurse

One of a kind.

I'm strangely ok with the 1st straight up no, if it was just that and unfortunately it wasn't left at that. I remember some rumor that they had shot footage of Natalie Portman and Hayden to be inserted to the OT at a later date. I'm surprised they didn't do an intercut in which Vader has a force dream of Padme telling him to save Luke. Awww fuck I just gave Lucas an idea didn't I?

Innocent time of my life? I was like, 21 when Episode III came out. I didn't even see the originals until I was 11.

When the OT first hit DVD, there was a rumor of a scene which Jar Jar and Bail Organa watch the Death Star rise over the horizon just before Alderan is destroyed.

Really the biggest crime from adding shit to the Blu-ray versions will be that my rifftrax won't sync to the movies anymore.
