Awesome. Nearly 6 years later, I'm STILL playing EWR 4.0, so I welcome the chance to finally get to play this.

Awesome. I was going to start a new game with EWR, but I'll wait.

That's pretty cool. I bought '05 a few days after it was released and have been playing it until just a few weeks ago when I finally decided to switch to '08. The changes weren't significant enough for the price, but figure I got more than my money's worth last time so an extra $35 won't kill me.

Will this not be horrifically out of date?

Actually, it didn't have real names on there did it?

If memory serves, there were unofficial patches made for the game that had updated real rosters. I wonder if, now it's freeware, we'll get a 2009 roster update.

Does anyone else find TEW really hard though? I can never seem to progress stories even if I do what it tells me I need to do.

they had an EWR 4.0??? I think the only one I played was 3.0 (and whatever updates that had.

I might download TEW 2005 though. I've been out of touch the last few years but I'm sure they'll have a recent roster update and then I can have an Eddie Guerrero/ Chris Benoit fued.

A question about EWR 4.2:

I downloaded the latest June update from the link luke-o provided above, playing as TNA from the start, National level. I can't sign any staff whatsoever. No matter what 'skill' level they're at, every single person 'refuses to begin negotiations with you' - which means i've got no writers and no medical team.

Anybody else come across this? Is it a bug with this update?

No it's okay, I think i've found the problem. I started a new game, but last time it crashed while starting, and when I loaded it up I thought everything was okay. I just started a new game and it didn't crash, and I got the 'Welcome' message, that I didn't get last time. And now I can negotiate with other people. God dammit, I was going well with my last game too.

Kelly Kelly vs Angelina Love.

Match Background: This match is for the TNA Women's title.

The Match: Kelly Kelly hits a shitty missile dropkick on Angelina. Flying knee to the face from Kelly Kelly. For the record it was more of a Rusty Wizard than a Shining one.

Oh, Dames :)

The one game I bought online, and it goes free years later. Well, I don't have to worry about my eLicense now. What a stupid licensing system...

^Agreed on the eLicense thing. I'm on my "last reset" of my Wrestling Spirit 2 eLicense; I keep crashing my comp, reformatting and forgetting to unlicense first, and I guess they'll only do it 5 times over the course of your license before they expect you to buy another one. Total ripoff, how much work can it be to reset a license, you trip one true/false binary flag for god's sake.

What game was it for? Since they announced WS3 a little while ago, maybe they're just moving support to that and figuring that suckers like me will lose the game they've got and buy the new one.

RVD also = funny messages when he moves up the card to has a good match with someone. I still play EWR 4.2 and consistently get 5* matches and high ratings from Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle vs Nigel McGuiness.

I found that the easiest way to advance stories was to use the Unchained Storyline. This way you aren't really bound by a storyline per se, less heat, but it let's you weave the story the way you want.
