That site must be getting pounded at the moment. Clicking that link takes you to a page showing that you can download the game, but when you click the link, you receive a script error page. I'll check it out again later tonight.

Done. And now the search begins for data updates. Eventually. I'll probably have a go with the default data for a while.

EDIT: Especially since I've never played TEW before and it's going to take me a couple of days to get used to all these screens.

EDIT2: And the SWF's roster is awesome. I never played TEW but did play Wrestling Spirit and I just marked out seeing Lobster Warrior's picture.

As a request (on behalf of a few people I suppose) can someone post a link to a patch with 2009 data when they find one, in this thread?

I've only seen work being done on one 2009 mod, and they literally just started a few days ago. Reports are there won't be a real-world update until August, partly because TEW is way more in-depth than EWR so everything takes longer to input (and there's more to input as well), and partly because they don't have a base so they have to completely build every wrestler & promotion from the ground up (not to mention the match types, the gimmicks, the angles, the arenas, among other things EWR doesn't let you customize).

That said, if anybody wants to give the CornellVerse a shot, here's a ton of backstory to help you along:

As a heads-up, to get all the angles you want, got to Import Data from the booking page and then Angles from the dropdown. Lots of important ones are 'missing', that is in the database but not available straight away in-game. Old EWR staples like "walking backstage" and "limo arrival", plus all the talkshow stuff.

Just don't try Select All and import, because it'll freeze, so you have to go through manually, which is a bit of a pain.

I don't know what you need in your superstar, but every time i'd have someone WALKING~!! backstage, they'd lose overness.

Yeah, I read that, too. I had planned out the whole summer of my fantasy booked WWE, but I didn't start up a game in EWR since I heard about this one going free. I guess I'll just wait for the mod, even though the happenings in the real WWE have fucked up my booking plans.

It's fun using the DOTT mod. I started as the WWF and went straight to war with WCCW when I offered the Freebirds a contract to work for me. I signed them and a week later they left WCCW. I really wish you could send an insulting e-mail to other promoters.

Wow, nothing since 2006? You'd think there would be someone who stuck with that game rather than paying for each new version, given how many people there are who say that the improvements in subsequent versions couldn't justify another purchase.

It's a pain in the ass to build for the TEW series.

Hell, look at all the shit that had to essentially be built from scratch just in the DOTT scenario:

...and keep in mind that even with data converters, there are even more options in TEW07 that have to be manually manipulated/created/updated, and then even more in TEW08.

I just roll with the last update available and get the promotions I care about right. That's what I did last time I played this. Plus I'd limit it to maybe 3 or 4 feds a country. If you try having every company in the game, it's gonna be 10-20 minute loading times for every new day.

I didn't realize it was so complicated to develop mods.

KOAB, I considered doing what you said, but I'd have no idea what to set the ratings for on WWE, TNA, and ROH wrestlers.

I really need to get onto this. But I'm stuck at work and then I have band practise.

Plus, it will be hard to leave my EWR TNA game, I was doing so well!

However you see them as... I always had to tweak certain ratings for guys anyway since a lot of people tend to overrate their faves.

Speaking of which, Kozlov and Henry have 100% brawling, basics, and psychology in my game.

God, Mick Foley's an ass. I sign him to a PPA contract in TNA (running a 2007 mod), and he refuses an extension... on a contract that he just signed and has 18 MONTHS left on. So he's refusing an extention because his contract is running out... a fucking week after I signed his fat-ass to the contract.

Add in the crap ratings for Impact, this isn't really going so well.

I'm playing the 'Flair buys WCW' mod, but I don't know how to sign other workers. I click on 'other workers' and search through and find people I want easily enough, but I don't know where the 'negotiate?' button is. Even if they're not employed by anybody. Anybody help?

Go to a guy's profile, click on the Business tab, then Request Negotations. They respond back within a week and if they don't accept your first three offers, they'll come back the next day for you to try again.
