A blind freefall onto literally anything is stupid and considering that you can't gauge how much give or padding there is under your weight at 400lbs and in a fucking thong, it's stupider. And I took that same bump just as you describe (not with a rope because I'm not a pussy), and it's one of the dumbest things you can do. Hay is not a trustworthy padding. It, and any bump where someone is unprotected and can't see what's happening, are stupid and unnecessary.

Kurrgan wasn't as bad as people say, if only because he never got the chance to suck properly. He was perfectly fine for what he was. Silva is dogshit.

Mero should've jumped to WCW. In another world we're talking about the brilliant heel team of Mero and Kanyon sleazin' up the midcard.

He squared up with Tank Abbott on a ‘00 Thunder. I’m guessing the only reason he didn’t jump was because he showed up too late to get on the WCW Gravy Train.

There is a timeline where Marc Mero Vs The Cat is the worst match on late ‘00/early ‘01 WCW PPV that you and @Laz defend.

They probably could do a decent comedy match. Like seven minutes tops with all kinds of bells and whistles.

Mero could have done everything Douglas did in WCW better, really. Like he could've made the viagra shit funny.

No joke: Mero and Francine would've been perfect together.

I never thought of it before but Mero would have added some much needed star power to ‘99-‘00 ECW and probably would have been able to work around his limitations.

He might have not made a comeback in ‘00 though cause he had a sweet Lloyd’s of London policy. I am not sure if he worked at all between the end of his WWF run and him showing up in Brod’s favorite ‘00s promotion the XWF.

With the recent Vince stuff, I now wonder if Sable went to Brock to end whatever the hell was going on with Vince and her.
Re-hiring Sable after the law suit and doing the lesbian stuff followed by "dating" Vince is some next level fuckery.
Kind of the opposite of ol' Verne who burned bridges and rarely mended them with talent.

I mean, knowing what we know now, there's probably some deeply disturbing tales involving Sable, Brock, and Vince that has bonded the latter two for life.

Actual Attitude Era post, though: I didn't know Just Joe actually had matches. He sucked, too, which goes against what I remember of Joe E Legend's work.

Joe E Legend seemed to work best outside of the WWF machine. He wasn't going to set the world on fire anywhere he went, but it's not like he was given a particularly grand opportunity in the Fed, either.

Just Joe jobbed cleanly to the Brooklyn Brawler. He was lowest totem pole name wrestler WWE had had since Virgil or Koko B. Ware. Only to be surpassed by JTG and Curt Hawkins.

Idk what it says that almost all of these guys are either African American and/or from the Tri State Area.

Hey Virgil and Koko were involved with top stars and made an impact. Joe's contribution is Austin beating the shit out of him when he came back in 2000.

He's between the Zombie and James Ellsworth.

Didn’t know if this belonged in here or the WCW bullshit thread but figured Invasion stuff fits better here. From the 7/2/01 Observer:
Just for a clarification on Goldberg's status, his Time Warner contract is not assignable, which means even if WWF wanted him and was willing to buy out the remainder of his deal, he is under no obligation to go. Whoever negotiated that contract for him is someone everyone should have as an agent. Oh yeah, everyone already has him (Barry Bloom). Nobody's ever getting another one like that
So the 23 years of complaining that Vince didn’t bring in Goldberg for the invasion were moot. They couldn’t have!

Bischoff talked in his book about what a pitbull Barry Bloom was during that contract renegotiation and how his team hung WCW by their ankles.

Thank God that “Pretty Fly for a White Guy” didn’t come out until Vader had left WWF cause Vince Russo would have definitely made him Hip Hoppin’ Heavy V.

On the other hand, maybe Vader could have pulled off a gimmick like Rikishi…

Having to gladhand a bunch of day drunk smarks who are on the 4th or 5th day of a bender seems like Al Snow’s waking nightmare.

I almost wish me and/or @Laz could make the trip to Philly to tell him that Steamboat/Savage was a better match than Hogan/Andre. (While wolfing down some half priced shrimp and wings)

I thought this was fucking great watching it live. I watched this tape back for years.
This would be right around the time I got my first batch of UFC dubbed tapes.
I don't think I knew for years that Tiger White was actually a Shamrock trainee and not just an MMA dude who took got to roll on RAW.

It's good when fantasy booking was real at one point.

Honestly he was a good enough promo and a crazy enough worker to break out on his own until he flips out and gets fired.

See I'd say there's a miscommunication with Shamrock leading to a shoot on Raw.
