I'm listening to Soul On Ice. Where do you guys rank Ras Kass or just this album? As far as albums go, I think this is at worst in the top 25 of all time.

Did anyone see the video for "Forever"? I was expecting D12 to be with Eminem, but we got something better - Slaughterhouse. It's the first time that I've seen Em and Royce together in years.

I marked.

Cool to see them with him.

Have I mentioned how much I hate drake? If not, let me take this time to tell you. I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hate him. He is a girls' rapper and nothing more.

Probably my favorite hip-hop album ever, and it's really a shame that every subsequent release was watered down and wildly inferior in every way possible.

Also, it's imperative that I brag on this shit:

My most prized LP.

Yo, Jay, you might not believe this, but the "indie rock movement" was around back when you were rocking a fade and kicking that double-speed flow.

Big Jaz feat. Jay-Z - The Originators [1989]

You're a little late to the party, Hov.
During their beef in 2002, I never understood why Jaz-O never pulled this video out.

It's hilarious.

I know it's been out for a few weeks, but what's everyone's thoughts on Kid Cudi's Man On The Moon album? I don't think that it's as great as some of the hype suggests, but I enjoyed it the first time listening through it. Not sure about his voice, as it seems to be all over the place at times. Kinda dark and depressing in quite a few spots, but I think it's an honest effort from Cudi. I'm tempted to say that it has an emo/hipster/stoner tone to it, but that seems too obvious of a conclusion to draw. I'll have to take another couple listens to it. Some of my favorites are "Alive", "Up, Up, & Away", and "Enter Galactic" (fun little song there).

HAWK - I'd Rather Bang Screw (Screwed&Chopped)

Who else enjoys the thowedness of Screwed and Chopped music?

Being from Houston, its kind of hard to not have a soft spot for the chopped and screwed movement. I remember buying copies of Fuck Action in high school and wearing out the CD..the days that Pat and DJ Screw died were almost akin to Selena dying for a ton of people.

Big Boi - Shine Blockas (feat. Gucci Mane)

This rules, though it's maybe a little too cheerful and summery sounding to be ideal mid-October listening. It really sucks that Big Boi's album is still inexplicably held up in label drama hell. Just release it, you idiots! It'll probably sell pretty well!

Didn't MC Ren ghostwrite "Straight Outta Compton"?

If so - thumbs up.

I'm really loving Cuban Linx II. It's not as good as the original (obv.) but it's a worthy sequel.

One of the best things about this album is Dek showing everybody that he can still step up when he wants to.

This new Gucci CD series "Cold War" is hilarious.

Disc 1 is Gucciamerica
Disc 2 is Brrrussia
Disc 3 is Great Brrritain

Him talking like an English dude on the Great Brrritain cd is hilarious.

I think it's only appropriate to end this post with with BRRR BRRR!

Beans should've considered doing that back in 2001/2002 after his battle with Jadakiss and Nas gave him props in "Ether".

He is. His B. Coming is one of the best CDs I've heard. He recently put out another CD. I think it's called "Broadstreet Bully"
