I don't think I ever finished the Zelda game on Wii just because I haven't had time to sit down and "master" the controls. =\

This is absolutely holding me back on a couple of Wii games. I just don't want to have to "work" at playing a game. Annoying to use Wii controls after a workout or weightlifting or late at night when zonking out.

You know what sucks? Okay, I scoop a game up like when it's at a really good price, new or used either way, it sits for months, by the time I get to playing it, it price dropped again!

I hear that. I'm staring at a full price copy of Dynasty Warriors 6, shrinkwrapped, right now while it's selling new and used for sub 20 bucks. Worst thing to ever happen to my variety and of video game playing was getting addicted to WoW and Rockband/GuitarHero.

Back on topic, if you reserve BlazBlue through Gamestop.com (Online only), you get an artbook. Not to mention a FREE collector's edition.

YES! YES! MOTHERFUCKING YES!!!

From FightersGeneration.com:

"They said it couldn't happen, but it is! Fighting extravaganza Tatsunoko VS Capcom is coming to North America." states an article by Nintendo Power magazine... And if there's any doubt, the awesome new Shinkiro artwork confirms!!! Under the new title Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, the US version may contain additional characters, add online VS mode, and will be released Winter of 2009!

Nice. Would a PS3/360 port be possible? Who else could they add? Speed Racer would be a good one for the NA audience. I wouldn't be surprised if they officially announced TvC2 by the time this is released, though.

I would love a PS3 port with souped up HD graphics - even if it were the Japanese version, what with no region protection and all.

Hakushon Daimaou is allegedly cut, but five new characters are in, along with online and some other stuff.

I can deal with that. I wonder if the five newbies are Capcom, Tatsunoko or both? They could easily just throw in five other Capcom characters (I'd love to see Strider in this) but it'd be cool if some other Tatsunoko properties made it in there - ie: Samurai Pizza Cats, Speed Racer, or someone out of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I imagine the sides will be kept even. That's if this is all true since Capcom shot it down (for now).

Here's a bunch that didn't make the cut before, but may have a chance now. And NGE can't be used because it's a Gainax creation. Tatsunoko only did production work on it.

Tatsunoko Side :

- Condor no Joe
- Yattaman #2
- Shurato
- Soul Taker
- Nakahara Komugi
- Daikyojin
- Beruku Katsue
- Tekkaman Evil
- Braiking Boss

Capcom Side :

- Leon
- Nash (Charlie)
- Date Masamune
- Arthur
- Ibuki
- Vega (M. Bison)
- ReiRei
- Zero Gouki
- Tiara Hime
- Nero
- June
- Rouge
- Tyrant
- Hinata

It's said that they decided of a 22-characters roster from the beginning, so it would seem like they had to narrow down the selection a bit. Finally, they give their main reasonings behind the omission of some characters :

1. Copyright issues
2. Licensed character which would be too difficult to translate into this game (concerns a large number of characters apparently)
3. Preferences
4. Overall balance

I played TvC at E3. Hakushon Daimou is indeed cut. The best thing is that Capcom is denying that the press release that's floating around exists... I think it's a case of a leak.

Bizarre - I wonder what the reason for Hakushon Daimou being cut was? I mean, I don't think that cartoon was ever released over here - only Japan and Europe as far as I know. Unless someone here has the American license and wants some big buck to include him or something like that. Oh well, it's a non issue for me, really. :)

Apparently there's a Soul Calibur 4 port coming to the PSP, and Kratos from God of War is featured as the guest character.

Um, yay? Clearly the one thing keeping the Soul series from greatness is not enough gimmick guest characters in previous installments!

Never really understood the point of porting fighting games to handhelds. Does anyone actually buy them? Seems like a pretty terrible platform for fighters.

I don't really mind them on handhelds. Super Street Fighter 2 on the GBA is one of my favourites. I guess it's just how into fighters you are and how often you're dying to play one if you're on the road or travelling or whatever.

I Got Next is a free documentary on the fighting video game scene created by Ian Cofino (with much support from friends and family). It originally started as a senior project at Purchase College, School of Art and Design, and has grown to something much bigger thanks to the dedicated and passionate players in the community. Originally envisioned as a short documentary, I Got Next has grown into a feature length production, which will see two releases, a short cut on June 26th and a longer cut in the winter of '09.

Anyone going to Evo this year, by any chance? I can't wait, it should be hot, even more so now that there's going to be a Tekken 6 exhibition tournament.

Fighter's Generation is saying Warner Bros. buys midway by default...
"No other bids came in, so there's not going to be an auction," confirmed Midway's spokesman, Geoff Mogilner. Warner's $33 million bid has net Midway's Chicago development studios (Mortal Kombat & Stranglehold), which means a sequel to MK vs DC has become a good possibility.

So, what's this BlazBlue game that's a spiritual successor to Guilty Gear? I had never heard of it till yesterday, and now reviewers are creaming themselves over it.

Ain't that always the way? At least in Toronto it is.. nothing ever fucking comes out on release day here.. even if they reassure you 1000 times that they are getting it in on release days.. nope. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. "Come back Thursday," UGH... :(
