So, did anyone pick up BlazBlue? I managed to nab one of the scarce PS3 versions.. all of which were Limited Edition boxes, so that's cool, though that whole thing that Joystiq reported about the LE Box being the same price as a single disc game didn't translate well up north as I paid the standard increase for LE Boxes..

Anyway, the game itself is pretty fun. I'm not finding it much different from Guilty Gear but I am getting the hang of it much faster.. if that makes sense. The 2D sprites are beautiful in HD, and the 3D stuff ain't too shabby either. As usual, with these guys, the music is awesome.

The cut scenes in story mode are really messed up, though. There are three types - manga style drawing with voiceover, landscape background with voiceover and text overlay, and the usual SRPG style of a character portrait with a moving mouth and text boxes underneath (also with voiceover). I dunno.. they could've done something more with these.. not full on anime video but at least something little more pleasing to the eyes. Oh well.

Online so far is pretty good, even though my opponent in my first match dropped out because I was winning - loser. No lag to speak of, so that is a nice change of pace.

Anyway, my girlfriend is out of town this weekend so I'm sure I'll be spending the next 48 hours playing the hell out of this game. :)

Picked up the last copy at the local shop yesterday. Haven't played it much, but it's very pretty. I'm probably gonna watch the tutorial video before I dive into the story mode.

I saw you on there last night and was all, "Yes! Finally someone on my list who got the game!" But then you went offline. :p

When I first started playing I had no idea that "Nu" (v-13) was the "boss" of that game or whatever.. but apparently a lot of people use her because she's powerful (she's essentially broken).. this sucks because now no one will really fight me and I've gotten really used to using her. I'm also trying to get into Taokaka and Arakune because I've seen some people do some crazy shit (to me) with those characters!

I'm down to play! But I'll definitely get my ass kicked.

From what I remember, I enjoyed playing as Arakune and that chick with the glasses. I think Thoth talks about her in his video.

Yah, Litchi - tried her last night - she's pretty sweet. There's so much you can do with that bo-staff, it's nuts.

After last night, I hate fighting Haku-men.. that fucking sword is.. argh!

For those who are wondering what happened with BlazBlue, its the same thing that happened to Cross Edge. Something went wrong during the production of the game and therefore only a small batch were made correctly.

Next batch of BlazBlue won't be out till the end of July.

Tell me about it. The only thing that's keeping me sane from this is the fact that I've got the OST to listen to.

Damn, I so love this OST.

Is Soul Calibur IV one of the worst games to play online in terms of your opponent being really repetitive? I'm guilty of it too. I was fighting against this guy and blocking his attacks and countering them and he was cursing me out. I've never really had that problem with any other game.

For those people who want Tatsunoko vs Capcom I have a buddy in Japan who's played the game and he says that the game is highly broken in the fact that if you know how you can time it you can make infinite combos.

And that's the actual console edition, not the arcade version.

I was originally going to pick up the Xbox 360 version of BluBlaze, but then I found out that nearly all the good players are playing on the PS3 version, so I'm stuck picking that one it seems.

As soon as I get home I'll let you know. I'm at work at the moment so can't say.

Sadly though, I still don't have the game. Its really isn't coming out any sooner than August. *sigh*

The only fighting game I own right are are Melty Blood: Act Cadenza Ver. B and if you can call it one, UFC.

Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver. B is on the PC. It was the last Melty Blood released.

^_^ I do know about Actress Again. That looks pretty good, though from the same friend I know of that its not as great as Street Fighter IV and BluBlaz though.

Though I do like the concept of being able to change your style yet being the same character.

Evo was pretty hype. I went 1-2 in both SF4 and SC4, which is kind of embarrassing in SC4 since I'm supposed to be good at it, but totally the greatest thing ever in SF4 because going 1-2 at Evo was my goal from day 1 when I decided I liked the game. My friends said it couldn't be done, but you have to dream big!

The SF4 grand finals was the greatest thing ever, Justin coming out of losers and winning the first set 3-2 on literally last hit, last round, then Daigo managing to clutch it out and win the second set 3-2. I wish Justin could have finished it, but still, just ridiculous, so high level. Makes you appreciate just how much skill there is in top level Street Fighter.

They had a bunch of Tekken 6 stations, which was neat. That game seems really fun and is really really pretty. It was cute how the PS3 stations always had long lines and the 360 stations were always empty because no one wanted to use the controller.

Yeah anyway, pretty hype. Everyone should go at some point.

Anyone else grab KOF XII? I picked it up yesterday after work.. right away you get a 772MB update/patch.. not sure what it does, but it could be fixing the netcode issue that lots of people were reporting. Either way I'm not experiencing any lag during my online matches.

I have no interest in any KOF games, but I'm planning to get Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 once my new hard drive arrives.

You'd rape me repeatedly on any fighting game.

I'd love to get a PS3 now that I have a TV that it's compatible with, but as I said in another thread, between a new, bigger hard drive for my Xbox and what I'm going to be paying for SummerSlam tickets, it'll be a while before I can afford one. I really want that bundle with MGS4 and Killzone 2.

That's precisely what the patch is for dubq. Its to correct the packet loss and uncontrolled net lag. I might pick up KOF XII, but I'm kinda wanting to pick up BlazBlue first, but I don't know what system. Might be the first game I buy for two systems at this rate.

Not sure. If it makes you feel any better, I can't even afford it right now. :(
