From escapistmagazine:

Gamespot has the full skinny: SSF4 will bump up the existing character roster of 25 by adding eight new fighters, three of whom have been revealed thus far. Juri is a new female character, a nimble Tae Kwon Do practitioner from Korea, whereas Super Street Fighter II combatants T. Hawk and Dee Jay will be making a return.

This, of course, leaves five unannounced characters, and while it's possible that some of them could be original fighters like Juri, it's probable that some of them will be fan favorites from other games as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Dudley and Ibuki from Street Fighter III, personally.

SSF4's pre-existing fighters will get an overhaul, too. New Ultra attacks will be added, and balance issues will be addressed based on feedback from the community and testers - so hopefully Sagat won't be quite so overpowered anymore. According to producer Yoshinori Ono, the game would include a superior online system (including a long-awaited lobby feature) but consequently would not be compatible with plain ol' SF4.

That, of course, is the crux of the matter - unlike, say, Fallout 3, this won't be a simple DLC update for people who already have Street Fighter IV. Super SF4 will be a retail-disc release, though it won't be a full-price game. While I'm glad to hear that it won't be sold at full price, any and all enthusiasm will be tempered depending on how much it will sell for.

After all, didn't gamers get tired of buying the same game over and over again back around the time Super Street Fighter II Turbo rolled around?

Any guess/wishes on who they should have as the remaining five?

Well, not being full price is at least meeting us halfway I guess.. and I guess it makes sense to be disc based for people who don't want to buy the first IV game and shell out more for an update.

As for the remaining five.. I'm hoping for Adon in there.

1 returning female since three in all seems like one too many. The rest dudes, 1-2 of whom will be new.

I'd like Karin, Mika, or Ingrid before Ibuki, honestly. Hugo, Dudley, Q, and Adon as possibilities/hopefuls otherwise.

It's going to be Ibuki. Wasn't she near the top for the voting in which characters would be added for the original home release? The contest that Rose, Fei Long, Cammy, and Sakura won? Or maybe just Cammy and Sakura.

So I seem to be totally engrossed during my spare time and time I'm not sleeping due to drugs, I've been playing BlazBlue that I got from a gift card from work. Such a fun game, and I totally love the soundtrack, I got it on my iPod (I FOUND IT~!), and its totally awesome. Haven't had this much fun with a fighter since MBACvb.

Still having problems learning all the different terminologies for fighting games and also still not responsive enough to keep it up with some of the more skilled players, like HeartNana (though I haven't played him in BB, only MBACvb), but I'm enjoying it never the less. I think the story mode helped with that.

My favorite character is Noel Vermillion. I'm still learning how to play her properly, but I'm getting better. Or so I've been told.

I've only got the PS3 version. I don't play a very good Noel unless I spam so don't expect much. It might also be the first game I purchase both systems. OH! If you want the soundtracks, I can send you those, I have them.

Edit: PSN id is ForTheGamer

Thanks dude, but I was one of the ultra-nerds who bought the special edition that comes with the soundtrack. ;)

Actually, I was speaking of all the soundtracks. There's 4 in total.

HeartNana beat me 10-0 in SC2 money matches at Evo. He's mean! :(

I really enjoyed BlazBlue the one time I played it. The presentation is very impressive - the graphics and soundtrack are really epic. I keep toying with the idea of buying it, but I just know I won't have time to play it.

18 days until Tekken 6! I'm so excited, the little I've played it has been so good. Anyone else planning to play it much?

Oh wow Jer you got to play him live? I would love to. And yeah, he's an absolute beast. Though there was a few times that I managed to actually beat him on MBACvb and I was really happy about that. Him and few others I made friends with had encouraged me to keep with it saying I do actually have talent, I just need to actually put the effort in to learn the character's whole skill set.

So I took that as a positive. Though I still suck right now.

Hehe yeah, we were both feeling nostalgic for SC2, so we played a couple sets at Evo. SC2 is my best game by far, but I got absolutely tooled. He was a superstar at that game, top 5 in the country easily. I got a prop in the Evo thread though, so I felt special, haha.

Just out of curiousity, what is MBACvb?

Proper name is Melty Blood Act Cadenza Version B. Its a series of fighting games based on the storyline ending of a path in Tsukihime (visual novel) that was never finished for the actual game.

Confused? That's nothing compared to the actual storyline... The game also just had its sequel (or like 5 revision really...) Melty Blood Actress Again, but got released for the arcade and PS2.

Yeah... I don't get why on the PS2 either.

Yeah, so I hear its beating out the 360. Which is quite sad.

And Jer that's awesome that you got that compliment like that. You played some of the best out there, and that's always a good thing.

...you know I know two names on there, and I've actually fought them. I didn't realize they were that well known...

Buy it for PS3 so I can come up and play it in a situation where there are two sticks.

Oh and buy another working stick. No more dodging the bad stick!

I might buy BlazBlue for the PS3. Of course, you could accomplish the exact same two stick goal by buying another stick for 360. :)

I do need to buy another stick. I was going to buy the wireless Tekken 6 stick, but I think it has the same crappy Hori buttons as the bad stick. I might have to finally give in and buy a RAP.

You need to buy a PS3. How are you going to play Tekken 6 on a 360 pad? I tried it, and it was a pain inducing experience.

But I have a 360 stick.

YOU can use the pad.

Now THAT'S the kind of handicap I can get behind!

Julia...

The 360 pad is too big a handicap for even Julia to overcome. When elbow comes out as u/f+1, you might as well just mash but-tons and hope for the best. Seriously, I had more luck playing SC4 on the bad stick when the broken but-ton was Guard than I had playing Tekken 6 with a 360 pad. It was horrible. I have nightmares about it.

12 days! Get hype!

Then stop building Humvees and bring your PS3 back to MD.

We can play a little til I break a controller in frustration. Then back to BlazBlue :D

There's so many Rockband songs too.

I can't find a video on the website, but it was on their podcast updates. But Zero from Mega Man X is confirmed for Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

On an off shoot, who do you they think they missed from the game?

Definitely Speed Racer and Phoenix Wright. That excuse for Wright that his attacks being on-screen letters spelled out in Japanese would be too long in English was just bullshit. Leave it in Japanese, then.

Tekken 6's online play makes me want to cry. It's so terrible. :(

It's still the greatest game ever, though.
