A great thread to honor The Ravishing One's birthday.

83 Weeks is on Rick Rude's WCW run this week too. I will listen to it and cross my fingers that Eric Bischoff keeps his vitriolic rants about what WCW did better than AEW to 30 minutes or less.
Hannibal has a new clip with my brethren John Nord discussing Rick Rude injecting drugs into his cock!

---
On that note:

Nord spills the tea on Dibiase fucking ugly women (by choice. )
Perhaps he subscribed to my theory that a fat woman will try harder in bed to compensate for their perceived short comings.

Today is the 20th anniversary of Chris Jericho defeated The Rock and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in the same evening to become the first undisputed champion in WWE history.

*sighs* It seemed important at the time...kind of.

Didn't the build all but try to sell that Austin vs Rock would be going down in an effort to pop the buyrate even more?

I'll probably find out eventually in @Valeyard 's thread but Rock and Austin didn't have a followup to their WrestleMania X-7 match on PPV until WrestleMania XIX, yeah? Unless you count their steel cage match at Rebellion (and they fought on RAW the night after X-7...also in a steel cage) but I feel like UK PPVs are non-canon. I hadn't thought about it before now but that's kind of weird.

The infamous Kerry was so loaded up we dragged him from his car match (IIRC).
I love that a ringside geek timed it and the newspaper called WCCW on it.
Bonus fun is seeing BJ Haynes on the undercard. He was brought in to replace Kerry in case Kerry landed the Ivan Drago role in Rocky 4. IIRC Haynes was made TV champ(or one of their 50 titles) and then rage quit after only being their a few weeks.
This was right after he went to the WWF, got a bunch of vignettes aired to plug him, made the Holiday 1984 WWF mag cover and then quit before he barely began.
Haynes would head to JCP where he would end 1985 by quitting their too. (Starrcade payoff IIRC)

Heenan and the Brawler sounds like a show about a dude and his monkey.

Speaking of, I don't think Monsoon would ever come out of retirement because I don't think he was physically able. The Blue Blazer needed to be an instrument of revenge.

On this day 30 years ago, Jacques Rougeau aka The Mountie defeated Bret Hart for the Intercontinental championship.

On this day 28 years ago, Jacques Rougeau (1/2 of the Quebecers along with Carl Oulette) defeated Marty Jannetty and the 1-2-3 Kid to regain the WWF tag team titles.

It's Jacques Rougeau Day!

I have my Grandpa's AWA programs from 1973/4ish where they are building up "The Man who beat BRUNO" vs AWA champ Verne.

Crazy to think there was such a thing as having too much heat, causing Ivan to have to leave shortly after this, Something for me to dive into the record books in the morning perhaps.
Ivan's next match after losing the title to Pedro in Feb was jobbing to Bruno in Pittsburgh. Bruno then beat him again in March in Pittsburgh (Texas Death Match) Ivan was still making WWF shots into July. He then worked western Canada for a few months before moving on to the AWA late in the year.

Happy 50th Birthday to "R-Truth" Ron Killings. It's been a hell of a run! And since he does WWE comedy BS and Vince loves the guy, he could be still in wrestling at the time of his 60th birthday!

While Benoit and to a lesser (but also in some ways greater?) extent, the Battle of the Billionaires cast a huge shadow over 2007 wrestling, there are other things we can fondly reminisce over like the spectacularly underrated Last Man Standing match between John Cena and...*gets depressed again*
