Commented on this recently, but it still baffles me that I have no recollection of watching this. There is a chance we were gone that Saturday, but I don't even recall WWF magazine covering it off hand and 10 year old Brody read those things front to back for a month straight. I should dig it out of my magazine collection and investigate.
I need to retire so I have time for the important things in life.

I was going to say it's amazing that we had powerful business owners that were so transparently awful and racist in our lifetimes. Then I remembered Donald Sterling was an NBA owner in the past decade. Then I thought another beat and remembered Robert Sarver is still an NBA owner CURRENTLY (for time being).

I guess moral of the post is rich people are mostly bad. (That's not to even mention Vince and our last POTUS...)

That's way funnier now than it was then. Perfect example of the questionable Diva booking while at the same time having some fantastically dumb shit.

Dude could've waited and gotten cut so he could bring that gimmick to TNA and change the face of wrestling.

I almost asked "What would have happened if Cena got cut in '02/'03" in the "What If?" thread. I feel like he would have ended up with a modestly better version of Mr. Anderson's career if his prime is in TNA instead of WWF. He gets a few World Title runs and is fondly remembered by hardcore wrestling fans but we never get him buying 57 suits at once or hosting SNL. TNA is too distracted by putting over Jeff Jarrett or whatever off prime WWE main eventer they just acquired to make Cena "the man".

Unlike Ken Anderson though, he'd probably get to go back to WWE though once TNA crapped out in the mid 2010s if not earlier.

Or he goes to ROH and becomes Brent Albright.

How long into his run was the Christian feud? That seems to be when me and many TSMers turned on him.

Cena did get me to legit angry pop when he was in Green Bay as a rapping heel. The show was...2003?....right after the Packers lost their first ever home playoff game to the Falcons. Cena came out and shit on them, as one should.

That was probably my last live show. The first few SD! Tapings after the Resch Center opened was my farewell to live WWE.

Cena backlash really started around late 2005 I thought, like Taboo Tuesday or something. Regardless the Angle feud was officially the end and I don't care how history has made it look out of context but Angle's "I can do anything I want and still get cheered over John Cena" period is highly entertaining.

Him going to Raw hurt him and Batista more than they expected, I think. Guy I worked with at the time was livid about them swapping shows the same way someone is mad when their favorite team trades top guys. I wonder if Cena (or Batista for that matter) become as big without the switch. Probably.

Late 05 anti patriot Angle with Daivari as his manager was so desperate but it kinda worked. Iirc this is the period where Angle said his pain pill addiction started getting out of control.

And damn I have zero recollection of Angle going face a few months later and Daivari managing Mark Henry during their program
