Holla! I remember the episode where she complained about being flat chested (this was after her and Victor became good characters instead of cartoon villains from a rival paper).

Rewatching Season 2's "The Gay Friend" episode and surprised at some of the stuff they got away with.

That one stars Brigitte Kingsley, who I enjoyed as the host of Game Nation in Canada (before that show finally died) as well as Summer from the film "Dark Rising".

All I remember about the show was Gary from Are You Afraid of the Dark? being in the cast.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the actor who played Chris becoming a weather man in Canada.

Eh, it was a Canadian show. I think Degrassi pretty much set the bar for "kids in high school"-type shows here, even if they were meant to be sitcoms.

Wow... That's sad. I was thinking she looked no different last time I saw her. Then I realized How High is already 11 years old... :-\

Wow. Wow. :(

She still looked normal two or three years ago when they did the Saved By The Bell reunion for People Magazine. What the fuck happened?

Also it's surreal to not have Saved By The Bell reruns on TBS anymore. It makes the rare occasion of having to wake up at 7 A.M. for something even worse than it already is. My childhood is dying.

There's a two hour block of Saved By the Bell from 10-12 am followed by a two hour block of Boy Meets World on MTV2, but I see what you mean.

Saved By The Bell before school on TBS was a weird ritual.

Back in the day this actress was not A list, but she was the lead actress on a very popular network show designed for a younger audience. Really popular. She was young at the time and probably thought she would be on television forever. A big crush for a lot of people. Now, she does not do much, but looks for roles here and there. She is still young with lots of time and makes a living doing promotional appearances. One thing she also does is spend several hours each day at a community center where she tutors children, organizes activities and field trips and lots of other things and has been doing this for almost ten years. Back when she started her show was just ending and everyone thought she was doing it for publicity. 10 years later and they know she is there for the long haul. Oh, and she does it all for free.

This was confirmed to be Danielle Fishel. Good for her.

I was watching a season 1 episode of BMW on something called "ABC Spark Canada" last night and Corey's reaction to his father's financial woes at work was to say "you're not just some spear carrier" (or something like that). Was it ok to say that on TV 19 years ago? Because it sounds like something people would get mad about it or claim was racist.

Hah... ABC Family I think showed the episode of BMW where Corey takes over as teacher, switching with Mr. Feeney. He gets to call Shawn a Wop and relates it to their reading of Anne Frank's Diary.

It actually wasn't that bad a "special episode" but the acting made it a bit clumsier in execution.

Is that different than the episode where someone insults Eric's girlfriend and they just follow-up with several racist terms to show that it feels bad?

Mr. Feeney was on an episode of Grey's Anatomy recently. Dude's old as fuck, that's all I've got to add.

Not exactly related, but Larisa Olyenik (sp?) aka Alex Mack, was playing a cop on an episode of Fairly Legal. It was kind of jarring seeing her after so many years and in a role like that.

Nope, that was the same episode actually I think. The scene that kicks off the later "Wop" scene is Eric consoling his GF on the couch for a guy calling her a "bad word" at the mall. Then Corey tries to explain to the class the importance of what happened and finally calls Shawn a Wop to make his point. Wouldn't shock me if ABC Family edited out any more racist terms though but the only one featured was Wop (which only sticks because I was surprised they let it air unedited).

Unless there was another episode that involved racism, which wouldn't surprise me given the era.

Spear carrier referred to the unimportant role of spear carrier in the play Hamlet which the class was doing at the time.
Cory was Hamlet at first but quit the play. When he decided to return, the main role had gone to Minkus. Cory had to settle for spear carrier #2.

Been watching the MTV2 mini-marathons of Boy Meets World and I much prefer the earlier 'stand alone' episodes in comparison to the heavier relationship drama college stuff later.

The best part of the college stuff was Eric becoming more and more like a cartoon character as it went on....well, Cory turning into an old Jewish woman was pretty entertaining too.

The best part of any Boy Meets World episode is probably the one where they look to their futures, and Eric shows up as a long hair, bearded mountain man who is married to a goat.

I had forgotten how much the Very Special Episodes were in terms of episodic development for shows. Boy Meets World had one on child abuse in S4 (and another on the dangers of cults that was less VSE but still had the distinct feel of it).
