Vintage Independent Wrestling Thread: Discuss the Stars of Today Yesterday When They Were Stars of Tomorrow

You know it's a little surprising TK hasn't brought Alvarez in. A more on brand signing might not exist.

A collection of promos leading up to the "Super Sports Spectactular" held in Hammond, IN on November 11, 1989. Featuring Bob Luce, Dick the Bruiser, The Chicago Freebirds (Buddy Roberts and Sinister Minister of Fear,) Boxing great Leon Spinks and more!
Spinks is almost unintelligible during his promos.

Leon Spinks (w/Dick the Bruiser) vs The Great Wojo I vaguely remember the Apters mentioning this I think...?
Buddy Roberts and his partner (Calling themselves the Chicago Freedbirds)... I didn't know that was a thing,

Here's Spinks/Wojo 1 -

TK needs to bring him in for a shot. Ki needs to get blackballed everywhere

Danielson going thru his ROH programs culminating with Nigel at Wembley II is what I’m fantasizing about.

Morishima can’t work anymore but he can still at least maybe gouge Danielson’s eye out for old times sake.

Jerry Valiant and a Abby knock off as WWA's top heels of 1981.

Still waiting for somebody to upload the clip I've talked about a ton from this era where Spike Huber, Bobo Brazil and Dick the Bruiser get awards from "audience votes" which IIRC has Spike win "Sexiest wrestler" or something like that. Absurdly fun.

There is also a knock off angle of the Ray Stevens "Bombs Away" ladder angle that is so low rent it's fabulous.

I think I'd randomly push him in EWR way back. Him, Altar Boy Luke, and Sterling James Keenan.

Always gotta pimp a former(?) board member. I was thinking about this run lately but I didn't realize how much got crammed into that very brief period of time.
