Funny I got my first major glitch after the patch. It was more a funny one than anything - a character showing up where she wasn't supposed to be, but odd.

Some of these side missions are hard as hell. I've already had to abandon some. Mr. Gutsy's and turrets just tearing me UP in one of the missions. Also one of the missions from the very beginning rescuing some Powder Gangers from Ceaser's Legion... I left that one and came back to it on Level 11 with good armor and better weapons and I still BARELY beat it.

I'm glad they made it harder. Perks every other level instead of every level helps.

No patch on ps3 yet.. Maybe tuesday? Though I still have yet to experience any bugs or freezes, aside from the invisible typewriter thing.

I froze twice last one. Once walking down the road to McCarren and once after fast traveling after a bounty from McCarren.

Got my first follower in Boone. Man's nasty with a sniper rifle.

Is it just me, or is VATS more important in this game? With 3 it seemed liike you could play more as a FPS. Now, thanks to quicker mobs (esp. geckos and cazadores) I'm finding I'm having to use VATS to finish them off.

I found that too but with having Boone I've found I get fairly ignored and I can flank mobs and take them out with iron sights.

If I knew he was a follower I would have tried harder not to fuck up the end of that quest.

My follower right now is ED-E the lil flying robot eye. I have just come across Manny and he did mention Boone though.

Yeah, I have Ed-E and Raul, the ghoul, now. It's weird when they wind up killing people I can't even see and the little XP gained pops into the bottom. I like that touch. I like having two companions, too. It's like my own little hunting party.

I have Boone and Rex but I never see Rex. I get his bonus but I never see him.

I just got Boone to go along with ED-E. I love when he snipes guys before I even see them and the screen cuts to the critical death camera. It's scared the shit out of me more than once, especially when it's a giant rad scorpion taking up the whole screen!

I also really like that they let you have two companions. They kind of did that with 3 where Dogmeat was an unofficial companion.. but this is great that they can both carry their own inventory.

Where does one come across Rex?

Cool. Does anyone know when you "fire" companions.. can you get them back again like in Fallout 3? Like if I let ED-E go, but wanted him back later on would he be waiting in Primm or at the Gibson Scrapyard or somewhere like that?

I fired him and it said he was on his way back to Primm. I wanted Rex instead.

2K caps for a snowglobe! Wish I had found more than 1 already.

I gotta say, I really like the weapon mod thing! I added a scope to my hunting rifle and extended mags to my 9mm. Also added a maple stock to my cowboy repeater in order to reduce it's weight. Pretty sweet! Also, I didn't even realize what Boone's "spotter" perk was but just figured it out last night that he makes enemies glow red when you look at them down the sights of your gun! Pretty cool! This whole time I thought it was form ED-E shooting them with lazers. :p

They all have cool perks. I like that. Ed-E's is helpful.

Finally bothered to advance the main story after hours and hours of dicking around. And now the whole platinum chip thing comes in to play... whose side am I on? I think that through and through I need to be an NCR loyalist. It just seems like the right thing to do.

It seems like the right thing to do which means it will be the hardest path to take. After being a completely evil bastard in 3 I decided to try to be good in this one and it's hard. The evil choice is always the easy choice.

What is his, btw? I didn't catch it.

I went evil in 3 as well for 99% of the game and then I did something in a quest, that I'm forgetting right now, that bumped my karma all the way from 100% evil to 100% good on the other end of the spectrum.

For New Vegas, I'm going good this time around. Sticking with the NCR and fucking up the Legion every chance I get! It's funny, I started out vilified with the Powder Gangers when I helped Goodsprings fight them off.. but then when I raided a Legion camp and set free two PG prisoners I jumped up to neutral with that gang. I love all the "shades of grey" in this game! :)

Ed-E just has outstanding perception so you can see red tick marks from seemingly forever away.

I was doing ok with the Powder Gangers until I slaughtered every single person in the NCR correctional facility. There wasn't even a quest involved, I just went ahead and did it. Luckily they are considered bad so I still have good karma.

Ahh, re: ED-E - I was wondering why I could see enemy markers so close! Cool! I love the beeping sounds it makes when it spots an enemy and after killing one.

I usually can't bring myself to go completely evil and I do like that the good choice is always more difficult, feels like more of an accomplishment.

Wish some money would clear so I can pick this up soon.

Yeah Nipton was quite a scene. After the Legion left I decided, even though I was hated by them already, that I should probably put those crucified Powder Gangers out of their misery. There was no way to untie them so it was headshots for everyone. I can't remember if there was a karma change for that though.

So I figured out why I never had Rex with me. Turns out he wasn't set to automatically follow me so he was just standing at the entrance to the Strip in Freeside waiting for me.

So I just
iced Mr. House in the face with a shotgun
after he pissed me off.

I'm sure the game will go to Hell in a hand basket shortly.

I'm not sure exactly what's going to happen yet since I
let him upgrade the robots first

I'm not very good at advancing the main story. I keep saying that I will do it and then I wind up doing something completely unrelated.

I loaded up an assault carbine with about 1000+ armor piercing rounds and just cleared out Vault 3 of all the Fiends while trying to rescue the NPR officer there. Little did I know that by killing the boss first that he was no longer there and if I never consulted the fallout wiki I would have spent hours searching for him in the Vault. Oops.

But tomorrow I will advance the story. Yeah... tomorrow.

I fell in to my dreaded "I'll get right back to it" habit. Started Fable 3 and then Assassin's Creed 2 and haven't gotten back to Fallout. Might try a couple of sidequests tonight.

Turns out if you lose a companion (I had Boone wander away during fast travel) you can find them again on the bottom floor of Vault 22 which makes absolutely no sense. It's out in the middle of the fucking Wasteland with nothing around it and murderous plants inside.
