Playing Tales of Vesperia for XBox and really enjoying it. I'm a sucker for charm.

Tales of Vesperia is seriously awesome. I need to get back to beating it.

I traded my Xbox copy in because I figured that the PS3 version would eventually come out, which is the complete game. However, we aren't going to get it sadly, ever. This greatly upsets me because now finding a used copy is going to be a bitch unless I get a brand new one from Ebay.

Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Tales Studio is in trouble financially so we might not get anymore.

Oh, and Disgaea 4 from the also in financial trouble NIS was announced.

What do you mean by Complete Game?

I had to hunt for it in various stores, got a good used copy cheap, then found another store had 4 or 5 new copies, but at about 90 AU.

By complete game, it has the rest of the story that wasn't included in the Beta version. The Xbox version is missing out on Patty the Pirate and also Flynn. Both were added to the Tales of Vesperia Complete version for the PS3. Now that wouldn't be a big deal if they were not only playable, but there was a ton of more story added, especially concerning Flynn and his motivation, so the Xbox version is a dumbed down version. Oh, and Namco Bandai has killed any chance of Tales of Versperia Complete to make it State side, so don't even bother thinking it will come over.

I've been playing more Trinity Universe and while its alright, its still kinda slow for an RPG to get going. Hopefully once I start playing Riz, I'll get a better idea of the story. I would hope.

Just finished the first episode in Lego Batman. I love these games.

I just finished that game a couple weeks back too. I had fun with it, although like Lushus said, the collecting got to be a pain in the butt. On top of beating the game, I was going for the 1000 Achievement score on the 360 too and one of the cannisters toward the end I thought I would never get.

I think the playing that right before Lego Harry Potter's release and going right into that one helped me beat the HP one so quickly after it came out.

I need an extended break from the LEGO games. I've 100%ed the Lego Star Wars Complete Saga, Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Indiana Jones 2 and did most of Lego Star Wars 2 before just reaching my breaking point. One day I'll finish that and pick of Lego Harry Potter.

Too...much...brick...collecting.

I get that. As much as I enjoyed Batman and Harry Potter, I thought about going back to the Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy one because I had only played it once a couple years ago after I picked it up cheap. I played one level and couldn't take it anymore. They are fun but all the brick collecting and other things can be overkill after a while. I haven't turned on my 360 for like a week now because I can't decide what to play now even though I got a ton of good stuff and new stuff I haven't touched yet.

That sucks but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

I'm amazed at how much dialogue they recorded. I'm sure alot of RPG nuts hate any english tracks, but I like them.

I enjoy the spoof of these characters (who doesn't like making Robin their bitch?) and its usually an easy 1000 GS. But yeah, the collecting in the LEGO games can be a bit much.

I think that's the thing that is probably why they aren't going to do it. They'll need to bring back people to record and re-record many lines that its going to become difficult as hell to pay them.

Actually as probably the biggest RPG nut on this board, I'll still declare that Tales of Vesperia has the best RPG English VA track out of any RPG that comes over from Japan. There aren't many places in which the actual actors falter (its more the lines given than themselves).

Trinity Universe is driving me up the wall right now with its slow as hell pacing. I know its a clusterfuck of epic proportions in terms of tie-ins, but can we at least get the main chunk of the story? I'm at Chapter 7 of I think 14 or 15 and its still being given to me as guess work.

I'm satisfying my racing jones by going back and playing the holy trinity of NFS games. Underground 2, Most Wanted and Carbon. I was into playing out Ferrari Challenge, but aside from driving the hell out of the Spa racetrack, there isn't much that is truly fun about the game. Its too serious.

By the way, EA has gotten too PC in that they have shied away from the "outrun the cops while becoming a racing legend" aspect of NFS. While Most Wanted was prolly the best iteration of that, Combining the aspects of Most Wanted and Underground 2 would have made the perfect game.

But no, they would rather make a "pure" racing game nowadays, the lazy fuckers.

The Tales series isn't in serious trouble.. it's not like we get a ton of Tales games released here anyways. It'll probably be the same old song and dance with maybe less Tales games coming out in Japan as a result.

I gotta get back into DQ9, I got back to the angel's heaven place thing and just completely lost motivation.. the angel stuff is real boring compared to the time on earth.

No the Tales series, probably isn't in serious trouble because Namco Bandai will scoop up the carcass. Its Tales Studio, the guys who originally made the Tales series that are in trouble. And yes, the sad result is that it means I lose from being able to play my favorite RPG series.

In DQ9 do you mean you made it back to the Observatory? Dude, that lasts all of like 30 minutes of story time before you head back down to earth, if its your first time there. You'll head down to Earth again and you'll be this time at Alltrades Abbey. Complete the main quest there, and you'll unlock the ability to change you characters and also gain side quests towards a few of your current classes like Minstrel, Mage, and Martial Artist, and also two quests to get two new classes right away: Gladiator and Armalist.

In other news, I reset my DQ9 game again. Why? I'm not exactly sure, I just felt like I should. Its kinda hard to describe. I'm making good time though, I'm already at Zare, and heading off to Brigadoom again.

Yeah it really didn't last that long. Thank God.

I'm now just fucking around with different job combinations since you can learn skill points on all of them, and trying to find any quests I missed. I'm going to Zere Rock next.

Seems like one of those games nobody would play--even JRPG fans--but I played Arc Rise Fantasia for about 35 minutes. It seems like a pretty run-of-the-mill affair, with some basic mechanics, and maybe some new stuff that's become standard in turn-based RPGs over the past 10 years. I feel like I haven't played any since Chrono Cross and Vagrant Story, so I wouldn't really know. Some of the chatter and voice acting is pretty funnybad.

Thanks to a complete loss of power I played an awful lot of Peace Walker last night. Playing too much PSP does kind of give me a headache.

And it's kind of weird to be grinding in a Metal Gear Solid game. But I got
all the parts to my metal gear
even tho I can't figure out how to use it.

It's really kind of amazing that they got a much more exciting
Metal Gear boss fight
on PSP than they ever did on PS2. I'm not quite willing to say that PW surpasses MGS4, not by a long shot, but I'll be damned if it's not just as fun GAMEPLAY wise as 2 and 3. And so many, many weapons! I kind of wish I had more. A non-lethal shotgun sounds like a lot of fun, and I've got 9999 rubber bullets for a shotgun, but no non-lethal shotgun plans. Dang.

I've heard nothing but good things about this game... and yeah RPG mechanics have really changed since the PS1 days. It's why I tend to stick to DS stuff.

I don't know why I said that first part. Maybe the whole 2 reviews on Metacritic. :-\ I don't play the Wii much, and I definitely don't play JRPGs, so I don't have much of a measuring stick for the game. I can't very well say it's bad (other than the VO), but from some of the mechanics I encountered in my brief trip (very brief by RPG standards), I don't think it's stellar either.

I'm really wondering if I want to finish Darksiders. I've liked the game so far, but after getting the game's version of the Portal gun, it has really ground to a halt and has become too repetitive. Same enemies, same looking locations, same button mashing combat. It's like they ran out of ideas to rip off at the end. A shame, really.

Now this game wants me to backtrack to every part of the map to find pieces of a sword. They've officially used every gaming mechanic in this generation.

i have been thinking about picking up Skate 3, because back two console generations ago I did enjoy playing skate/snowboard games, so I grabbed the Demo from XBox Live and tried it out. I still suck horribly at getting used to what buttons do what and in what order i have to hit them (it's comparable to having to hunt and peck a keyboard) but for what I was able to accomplish I liked and felt proud of myself for at least being able to grind a few rails after failing miserably in the tutorial.

Still, I'll probably play out the last few minutes of the demo and see if i want to drop the cash on it.

The more you play a Skate game, the more familiar you get with the controls and the more natural it feels. Just keep reminding yourself that this isn't a Tony Hawk game.

I only ever played Tony Hawk 1 and 2, and not for very long. I was actually big on Coolboarders (3, specifically) and had muscle memory on that game down pat.

During the "set a marker" part of the tutorial i found my fingers instinctively going to the buttons for grabs every time i was in the air (and i did do a few, though i am not sure exactly what).

My apologies if this is being discussed somewhere else, but is anybody else playing Limbo on the 360?

So simple, yet so awesome.

Finally finished Point Lookout, the last of 5 pieces of DLC for Fallout 3.

Note to self: no matter how awesome New Vegas will be, one year from its release they'll sell a GOTY edition with like $50 worth of DLC for $60 so seriously, either pirate or hold out.
