Yeah I just died at the first real battle in that game, and haven't touched it since. I've been playing Atelier Annie for DS, instead.

Oh? How is it? I can't read Japanese so it's not even an option for me, since alchemy is a big part of these games.

5 1/2 into MK now, fun game now that I understand how to make weapons effectively.

Forgot to add that I finished Final Fantasy IV DS last week. All my characters were level 85, and I just barely got by Zeromus.

I bought a couple of really good budget DS titles the other day. Big Bang Mini is a vertical shooter that is a little reminiscent of Geometry Wars and has you firing fireworks at enemies as you dodge their shots and the debris of your missed shots. It can get really hectic at times. The one I'm really impressed with is Soul Bubbles. Basically your goal is to safely trap a bunch of fairy things in a bubble and blow them safely to the end of the level, but there are enemies, obstacles and tight spaces that you have to go through by doing such things as slicing your big bubble into a bunch of little ones and then joining them together again, cutting vines and navigating wind tunnels. It really is a fun puzzler that I got for $5 and is one of those games that the DS is made for. I highly recommend picking it up.

It's pretty enjoyable, with a lot of focus on the characters. Unfortunately the exploration/fighting part is lacking, you really just talk to people and make items.

I downloaded Bionic Commando: Rearmed the other day and have been playing it. Just as annoying as the original, but still good times. It's worth the 400 points, IMO.

Mana Khemia is just totally awesome. I am in Chapter 3 Week 2, just did all the possible jobs. I will progress the story when SmackDown is over.

Mount & Blade, using the Expanded Gameplay III 4.5 mod as a Barbarian.

I hadn't started a "brand new" character in a long time, but running around the battle field murdering enemies with a giant axe like I'm in some type of super action movie is pretty damn fun.

Just finished Resident Evil 5 with the gf about a week or so ago. We've been playing Mercs mode since then. I'm trying to slowly transition her into playing other games, so probably will be playing some Left 4 Dead soon.

Playing nothing but old SNES games on the Virtual Console lately, most recently Super Castlevania IV. Still every bit as good as i remembered, though what i didn't remember was just how awesome the music was, easily one of the best video game soundtracks ever.

I had never played the original, but I got this at 400 points last night. I've put in an hour or so. Really good game. I wouldn't have given it a second glance had it not been for the Deal of the Week.

Rented X-Men Origins: Wolverine a few days ago, and I have been enjoying to a lot. Already finished the game, and I am just replaying some missions to try to get the rest of the trophies for the game. Really enjoyable game, but I can't justify spending the $60 to buy the game. A week seems like enough time to play through the campaign and get most of the trophies/achievements.

Surprised this topic died out.

I even have a backloggery.com page!

I got RE5 from Gamefly. It's good, but it's kind of disappointing that the "horror" of Survival Horror is pretty much nonexistant. At least RE4 had a creepy setting. And I absolutely hate using an AI partner; if I give her the fucking shotgun I expect her to use it. Playing co-op on Live is world's better.

It wasn't easy, but I forced myself to keep playing Sonic 2006 and finally finish it. Only to realize I had only finished Sonics game and I still have to play through as two (hopefully only two) other people. Ugg. This game is death.

Pros: It looks really good, even for a three year old game.
Cons: Everything else.

NCAA 07 for Xbox, now that I got another Xbox controller (I swear my ex has the original controller, but she swears she doesn't and we're on good terms that I'd really like to not ruin over a $10 controller from a last-gen console that she & her brother need way more than I do).

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix for DS for some reason. I'm really getting tired of it, the loading screens are too frequent and it seems like it wants me to dick around with sidequests a lot more than I want to because I'm fighting a ridiculously overpowered information database that's level 50 before I hit level 25. Even its equipment is jacked; it's got the ability to regenerate 5 shield for every white gem on the board whenever it wants, it can do 1 damage for every 2 green energy it has, it can double its green energy whenever it wants, and it can get its green energy well above 50, and it has double the health I do. Fuck this game, I'll do the sidequests when they aren't stupid "Exposition between a couple characters, travel to this galaxy, oh wait load screen you have to fight this ship unless you can hit a Leap Gate before the ship locks on to you, continue traveling, get there, fly to the planet, pick up an item, repeat traveling process with random stop-to-load-battle-you-don't-want-to-fight scene, deliver item" fetch quests, thank you kindly.

Tales of Phantasia. This game is garbage and the people who ported it to GBA are garbage!

I'm alternating between my newest game- Red Faction Guerrilla- along with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

I bought MLB 2K8 used a few weeks ago because I was jonesing for a baseball game and I remember Smues(?) liking it. Once I found some good sliders and got used to the game's little idiosyncracies (which don't detract from the game all that much), I'm enjoying it. I use the one button hitting for now and it is kind of like MVP 05, but I love the pitching interface the most.

I've been playing Fallout 3 my second time through, and as a baddy. I almost forgot how cool this game is.

I've also been playing Red Faction Guerilla, BlazBlue, and Bionic Commando. Too many new games. I have to stop spending money on them!

I was having a look at my game collection, and I realised that I haven't touched Fallout 3 in months...and I haven't finished it. I popped it in, and after a couple of hours, I really accomplished nothing. I leveled up my character to level 14, and scoted around a new area I found. I almost forgot how much of a time whore that game can be. Fun, but it can chew up the hours pretty quick.

Yeah, I've been meaning to go back to that since I have yetto complete the story, and I basically got Broken Steel and The Pitt for free. But I've been intimidated. It's hard to jump back into after all this time, even with a Bible-thick guide.

I've been fiddling around with Red Faction a bit more, as well as the UFC league. The Splosion Man demo was really cool.

Since my PC has been down, I've been playing a lot of Fallout 3/w DLCs and GTA IV.

I tried getting into GTA months ago when it released, but I just couldn't due to particular irritations about the gameplay. I have to admit that there is enough good about the game that I want to finish playing it, but there are just so many irritating things about the game that it just makes it very..trying.

Would it have hurt them to put in in-mission checkpoints? Fail a mission, and you get to do it all over again, including the usual "drive halfway across the city" bits. I also dislike the plot hammering you into using particular tactics and blacklisting your abilities (ex: Backup) when it doesn't want you using them. Plus, your body armor seems to be made of paper, but when the AI has it it takes quite a bit to get rid of. TLAD seems a bit less on the annoying side, but I'm not that far into it yet.

Saints Row 2 may not be as "good", but it's much more fun to play.

I've been playing Fallout 3, and am attempting to build the "perfect" character, which will have maxxed out skills and stats at the end. Stats won't be a porblem, since I just have to avoid grabbing the bobbleheads until level 30, but the skills might take some work. I'm imagine it's going to take a lot of skill book hunting, which will be annoying. Plus I had to jack up my INT to get as many skill points as possible per level, which took away from my endurance and strength. It's kinda tough going right now (level 7).
