Bret Hart, British Bulldog, & Jim Neidhart are in this game. But, why isn't Owen Hart in? I thought that WWE & Owen's widow reached some sort of agreement.

That is odd, maybe whatever deal they reached didn't include video games? Considering how many have been put in simply because of the big Austin story thing, like Savio Vega you'd think Owen would be in simply for that reason also.

I also thought Owen's wife still was holding out too. They announced the DVD release against her wishes but I thought they still had limitations due to this and even a few months ago, Bret was stating he will likely never go in the Hall of Fame due to her.

Everything I've seen / heard looks pretty good and improved. I like that they do the entrances in real time now, and I watched a video of Orton RKO'ing dudes during their entrance which was pretty fun.

You and me both. I got a $50 amazon gift card and at that point justified it saying I could rent the game for $3, or own it for $10.

The game at least seems competent, which is a huge improvement from 2k15

Yeah, I've just been messing with mycareer and I'm still in NXT so I haven't exactly seen a lot of the game yet.
