I've finally got round to playing RvS2010 on Wii and it's not all that bad.

However, the created wrestler story is fucking infuriating. It starts off easy enough, but then you have a 2 on 1 handicap match with no instruction on how to win, then you have to win a 5 way match and then have another 2 on 1 handicap match with no instruction on how to win!

I fought Jackson and Koslov to a time limit draw in Vince McMahon's office! I don't even know how to win.

You have to destroy the office by irish whipping them into the scenery.

I figured that, but a lot of the time it didn't work (the statue in the corner, the picture frame) and i don't know how much to break. I did the desk and the TV and the two already mentioned but not all in the same go.

The point I was making was that it gave me no indication on what I should do. That's poor game design.

=[. I just loaded up my SD10 game and it seems i may have forgot to transfer the save to my new HD. The joys of having unlocked achivements but no unlocked wrestlers. At least i have an excuse to replay it now.

I don't see that title selling well @ all in the states.

It's going to be marketed solely in Mexico and Latino markets in the States. The game, by default, is in Spanish - but there will be an English option, thankfully, for wrestling game marks like myself. ;)

It's not irish whips you need. Strong grapple one of them and move them over to something like the desk or framed pictures to trigger a cutscene where you use the office bullshit as a weapon. Kinda like how strong grapple plus moving towards the ropes makes you put someone on the top rope dick first. Hope this helps.

Yes it does, I had no idea that's how it worked.

This is what happens when you rent games that don't come with instruction manuals.

..and even then, the SD games are notorious for excluding info from their manuals.

The last SD game I played was HCTP. It was alright, but I still long for the AKI engine. How are the controls these days?

The controls are pretty AKI-esque, but not very. And by the way, Luke, what I told you is definitely not in the instructions. Hell, I still don't know how to get a tag team to come out using their tag team entrance that I made.

Yes, you can manual target again in 2010. You still can't target the ref, though.

Works for me, in 09 I keep decking the ref unintentionally because I walk too close to him when lining up my toe kick-to-finisher combination.

Yeah, I don't remember them doing this in past years, but in 2010 instead of coloured arrows you get the name of the person you're actually targeting. MUCH better.

Well, it worked either way. Took me a couple of attempts and a lot of swearing but I finally did it.

If someone can tell me how to get a tag team created entrance to work, I'd appreciate it. I really want my CAWs coming out doing the Bushwhacker march.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Set them as Tag Team, not Alliance.

One more question, and I apologize if it's a stupid one: on the CAWs, do you have to play regular modes to earn points to increase their attributes? Like, if I wanted to create a CAW of a real, already established wrestler, I have to go through the riggamaroll of doing a season with him just to make him competitive with the real roster?

No, Caws earn points through everything they do in 2010.

If it weren't for the slowdown that occured during tag matches in No Mercy, it would be perfection. System limitations though, so what can you do? I honestly don't see why someone doesn't just use the engine to create a wrestling game with an updated roster. Def Jam used the engine, but I don't think we'll see a new one any time soon.

The slowdown in No Mercy, IIRC, can almost be eliminated completely by turning off the music.

Yeah, the Def Jam games were excellent, until this gen where EA switched studios and shat out the awful Icon.

That's simply not true. Smackdown has been really good the last couple years, especially 2010. Most people agree that SvR2010 is the best, most complete package offered yet. I would bring up Fire Pro, but that was PS3. Legends of WrestleMania was really good for what it was.

I hated the in-ring music in these, so it was always turned off, and I still remember the slowdown being a problem. At least for me.

What a completely inaccurate statement. Is there anything that you DON'T fucking hate?
