I thought they might be trying to limit their Dead Person Roster as much as they can to avoid drawing unwanted attention, but then you always get guys like Rick Rude or Bulldog as Legends (and hell, Earthquake was DLC for SVR 09).
My second theory is they're concerned about Eddie Exploitation and the backlash that cropped up when people started getting sick of WWE doing it. I also have a theory it has something to with Benoit (since if memory serves me right, 2007 is about when he stopped appearing in games). Neither of those make much sense, but I'm sure they have a reason.
Back to SVR 2011, I just finished Cena's RtWM and am trying to finish the Vs. Undertaker one (as Ziggler), but I can't seem to knock out
within 90 seconds. In all my other brawls, just doing a knee drop as the signature would knock people out - in this, I do that, the Zig Zag, and two powerbombs in a row into the lockers and nothing. Time just runs out. I saw someone call Cena's boring but I actually really liked it. The story made sense and would actually be interesting in the real WWE and I enjoyed the fact that, apparently, SVR story modes have continuity year to year since the Better Than U-Topia storyline got mentioned. It was weird hearing Cena refer to that as the incident "in SmackDown vs. Raw 2009" instead of just saying "two years ago", but whatever. The sub-plot with Santino was pretty amusing too. The Undertaker storyline is obviously silly (as they have been yearly) but from a presentation standpoint, it's really cool. I thought maybe they were banned from saying "Ric Flair" since Stephanie states that Undertaker took on "a crafty veteran" at Mania XVIII, but then Lawler and Cole repeatedly mention Flair during the match that sets up.
