I remember playing a mode I could never win because I wasn't wrestling proper strong style booking and I kept getting a low score.

I would've loved an animated EWR.

One of the old All Japan games (the ones that Natsume Wrestling was ported from) actually had a mode where you would the fans would either pack the arena or start leaving depending on how exciting the match was. Repeating moves over and over made people leave, but mixing up the variety and pace made the crowds grow and get you more heat. It was actually a pretty good game, too!

Venk's talking about Fire Pro Advanced 1 and 2, I believe. I used to get some awesome scores with Lucha Style and King's Road style. I actually got a 99% in King's Road with Paul London against William Regal.

But I didn't know how to run the business of it due to language barrier so while I would be putting on these matches that would be getting 75%-100% ratings and using Hansen, Kobashi, Steiners, Hayabusa, Mike Tyson, and other big names like that I would only be drawing like no more than 1,500 people for these shows, so I'd usually be bankrupt by the end of the month.

I miss the Extreme Warfare/Wrestling series. After a while, I just liked to stay back and let the world unfold with an autoclicker app that I had installed. Also, I was only a big fan of the universe that they created. I always fold the real world stuff to be tedious and flawed depending on who favored which wrestler.

I just read how you unlock the alt. attires in All Stars.. you have to take each wrestler through one of the Championship Paths (twice for guys with 3 outfits). Damn, that feels excessive. Kinda wish that coved saved now. ;P

Oh, also.. I was playing as Austin last night.. he has the Stun Gun as one of his signatures. Lawler & JR even call it by name. :D

I just watched two hours of All-Stars online play at Giant Bomb. I'm going to trade a bunch of stuff in at GameStop and get it. I'm convinced this is pretty damn good.

Yeah, the first night the online wouldn't even work for me - I couldn't even create a match. It seems fine now, so it was probably an issue server-side. I've yet to experience any lag, too. I can actually play an online wrestling game! MIRACLE!

Fucking Hogan, Andre, Cena, and Rock are like the hardest last boss in old school arcade games. It always feels like an accomplishment just to make things competitive against them.

In WrestleMania Challenge for NES, all you had to do was pick Warrior and gorilla press Andre over the top rope and watch Andre just wander around the ring trying to figure out how to jump in the ring since he could climb the ringpost/buckles*

*Only applies if Andre is being played by a human who's not 100% sure how to play the game.

I've had All Stars sitting on my shelf the past couple days and finally got a chance to break it out for a little bit today. I'm enjoying it, although the fighting game influence is taking me getting used to. I usually dominate Smackdown vs. RAW pretty easily, but it took me a while to start getting in the rhythm to win matches my first stretch playing.

All Stars might be my favorite fighting game in a while. The only thing I don't understand is how easy it is... well at least for me to beat Undertaker. I figured he would be up there with Hogan and Andre as the hardest guys. Also, Big Show is quite tough if he gets on a roll in this game and gets his finisher... since it's like Hogan's fucking legdrop where it can hit you even if you're hiding from it on the top rope... there's no escaping it. I'm just thankful Sweet Chin Music is weak in this game.

I played for a bit yesterday and got my ass kicked in the Warrior vs. Warrior fantasy match several times over. Finally won, then Rey kept kicking my ass when I was Eddie. I had it on Rookie too, so I was kind of sad about that and hoped perhaps it was a glitch that the game was on Legend (or All-Star or whatever the highest difficulty is called) by mistake. Today I did awesome taking Ultimate Warrior through the Legend road. I think - even though I thought I clearly read the control prompts in the control options - I need to read the instruction book for some more info since I seem to keep doing the same shoulder breaker and bodyslam repeatedly, then accidentally pulling off a piledriver using what I thought was the same button commands I had just used. I'm also wondering if some guys (like Warrior) only have one signature, since the Tree Slam is all I could with him.

Things I feel like noting:
- Rey's model is scary. Yeah, everyone is Jakked up huge, but when I played the Rey/Eddie match, Rey is BIGGER THAN EDDIE. By a lot, too. That seemed wrong.
- Speaking of, I love the Fantasy Warfare videos. I've only watched two, but so far so good.
- I love the reversal reversals the odd time I hit them.
- I find it a bit anti-climatic when Andre keeps kicking out of all my Warrior supermoves despite having zero health, but then a SNAPMARE kept him down for the count.
- I love the animations.

I wish it were easier to get a pinfall on this game but they really did try to make this more of a fighting game so it's usually best to just get the KO.

Once you get the combos down it's so much fun.

Macho Man would dropkick me then backflip and fly up to the top turnbuckle. Amazing, and I probably have no idea how to do it (I never did it with Rey but I assume he can too).

I gave Andre the press slam when he had no health and it didn't knock him out, hence the snapmare pin (which was a reversal, actually).

It would have been nice if the game gave you something of a tutorial or training mode to at least explain how to chain grapples and strikes into combos instead of relying on trial and error.

I'm enjoying it so far, though. Paul Bearer is awesomely hammy as usual.

Paul Bearer and Undertaker were indeed great. I was glad I played as Warrior as it seemed like a great revisitation of 1991.
