As for the recent stuff about Jericho not being in this year's game (fan outrage, Jericho tweeting about being left out), THQ claims they wanted him in but won't reveal why they weren't allowed to put him in.

The Batista newsbit mentions giving you the ability to "reunite Evolution". I assume the mean with HHH and Orton, and also assume Flair can't possibly be in the game... but Hogan WAS in All-Stars.

The WWE 12 IGN review is out. The multiple No Mercy references is undoubtedly setting myself up for disappointment.

Looks like the best Week 1 deal for WWE 12 will be at Target. Target ad for next week will supposedly have it for $47 on Tuesday/Wednesday.

If you want to try your luck, Best Buy's promotion is to give away a free Rock DVD with purchase. I think it is the set from like 2008. In bundles like this in the past, price match has worked for me, so potentially you could bring Target's ad to Best Buy and get the game and the Rock DVD for $47 plus tax.

IGN gave WWE 12 a 9/10 and claim "a new era has arrived." This looks like the SD vs Raw games to me, so I'm kinda skeptical. I'd like to be able to play as Danielson though.

They removed the more or less pointless Ultimate Control Moves, so there's that.

Good. They were a neat novelty the first year, but are indeed pointless. Not looking forward to learning what is most likely ANOTHER all new set of controls though.

Read a review from Alexander Lucard who said it was almost as bad as Wrestlemania 21 for the old xbox, but he tends to be the polar opposite of the mainstream media.

I liked some of the Ultimate Control moves because they gave some cool options in matches like powerbombs/chokeslams out of the ring or into the turnbuckle. However, they worked very slowly and were very clunky. They were pretty much obsolete with the new physics system where you can do a move in any direction you want.

Yeah, exactly. Year 1 they were cool but then I kind of forgot about them later.

I just want to know did they remove moves and fix that little detail where you could have a stable like the NWO but not have the Outsiders inside of the Stable called the Outsiders. Because that will really mess me up when I use this game to specifically create WCW and use the old game to create ECW.

So even with shipping, exchange, and import fees, that ended up being less than buying from Amazon.ca (plus the $10 off code). It works out since last month Amazon.ca had Arkham City in a holding pattern of not shipping until I just went to Best Buy to get it, and even now they were listing the 25th as the shipping date for WWE 12. That was not a promising start.

I'm going to give it a few days until more reviews come out. I have a $10 code so I'll get it for $37, but I was burned hard by last year's game so I'm being overly cautious here.

I always get it no matter what, so that's why I was happy and thought I'd let others know. I actually had gotten it in the Quick Picks section a few months ago, where they give you an extra 5% off, so I'm getting it $44.65 plus the gift card. Now as long as it shows up Tuesday, I'll be good.

--A funny story about the authenticity of WWE 12. If you play the Daniel Bryan character, Michael Cole insults him the entire match, calling him a wimp who paid $100 to go to wrestling school. Pretty sure he paid a hell of a lot more than that to be trained by Shawn Michaels. (thanks to Jim Valley)

I've played one game as an AJ Styles CAW that I downloaded versus Tyson Kidd and I can already tell you I like this game more than any Smackdown vs. Raw. I really really dig it.

I'm playing the Road to Wrestlemania mode with the created AJ Styles...which is awesome since no matter what you're created star is his name in the storyline is Jacob Cass, NXT winner. So all match long I get to hear them call him Jacob Cass and he's got the giant AJ tattoo under his arm. It's exactly like I imagine it would happen in real life.

The controls took a little getting used for me, but for my friend that bought it, he's at a loss and wondering if he can scratch the disc and return it. He's the more easily frustrated out of the two of us. Also, who in the fuck is this Ricardo Rodriguez impersonator? They couldn't have got the man himself to record two lines?
