I have a new favorite thing ever in a WWE game. The storyline here is that they're doing a WCW reunion show and you're trying to earn a tag match on the show against Animal and a partner...not Hawk you see because Hawk is dead. The very next segment Rey comes out and talks about WCW and you are taken to play a match in the Nitro arena as Eddie against Rey. Eddie is also dead. Two segments in...two for two!

ugh, I forgot to reset my one-click shipping settings when my Prime account ran out, so I got the good deal off Amazon but paid $7 extra for two-day shipping that'll still get here in 3 days because two days from now is Thanksgiving.

This storyline has EVERYTHING. First you are overshadowed in your own storyline by John Cena. Then Randy Orton. And now HHH!

These guys know their product.

My friend bought it and we wasted a few hours doing random matches.

It plays exactly like every other Smackdown vs Raw game.

Can someone explain how the Breaking Point submissions work? The thin "manual" included with the game doesn't explain them at all.

Every game has that faggy thin manual now. Anyways, I like the game. Some glitches and universe isn't much better than last year, but create an arena is awesome.

Except for all the stuff they changed

Mash the four face buttons randomly as fast as you can. There's a full manual online. I think it's at thq.com/wwe12/manual

Since no review even bothers trying to actually explain it, how's the control scheme and gameplay of it? Comparable to the SVR titles, more to the Aki vestiges of excellence, more towards the classic SD games, more like the GameCube games...?

I must say that the somewhat positive reviews here are starting to make me consider picking it up, though the clunkiness of each game footage is turning me off.

The right stick is only used to flip people over or around. (On the 360), you press A to initiate a grapple, hit a direction on the left stick, and press A again to do moves. It's clunky, though, because you kinda get into it since it's kinda like WCW/nWo Revenge, but if you hold the button, it does a submission.

How does it compare to the Aki games? More like WCW vs. The World, WCW vs nWo: World Tour, Revenge, WM2000, No Mercy, Def Jam Vendetta, Def Jam FFNY...?

Well, like I said, you use a button to grapple instead of a stick. That's pretty much it.

I have $10 Amazon credit, so the total would come out to $40 after tax if I order this, which seems like a pretty decent deal. To those of you who have this, would it be worth it?

Once I got used to it, I liked it. Keep in mind, I only played three or four matches. And in one of them, I was Dolph Ziggler. So that was great.

I haven't played a Smackdown v. Raw game since 2006, but the custom options intrigue me. Do the matches last a decent while or are they 2-3 minute affairs?

So, the first match I was going to play was Air Boom vs The Nexus. I can't be BOTH guys if I'm playing alone? Or did I not pick the right option in WWE Universe? If I can't be both guys on a team, I'm never playing tag team matches on this game.

You can be, but not if you entered the match by hitting 'Next Match' from the previous match. As by default, you're only going to be the person you picked. So basically if you know a tag match is coming, you have to exit match before you go to the next one. Then just 'edit' the match, picking the same people but picking the option to play as both. Or if you didn't realize a tag match was coming, you can just quit from the match and restart it.

The matches do last a decent while, and that's pretty awesome. On the default difficulty anyway, the computer reverses a fair amount but not so much that it's annoying. I have actually had some really good, realistic matches against the CPU. And the hype word they kept using to describe the game was 'fluid'...and for once it lives up to the hype. The transition from one move to the next is extremely fluid. I've done stuff that I used to do with 2 controllers just for fun, against the CPU and that's a good thing.

To summarize the Jericho situation in relation to WWE 12, the latest Observer says (and this is condensing it quite a bit) THQ just assumed WWE was working on signing Jericho to a new deal (at the very least a marketing deal that allows usage of guys like Michaels and Batista)... and then they didn't, so THQ couldn't use him. And because THQ left him out of the game, Jericho is mad at WWE.

Yeah, this "Next Match" option isn't as handy as they thought it would be.

My game showed up from Amazon last night but I didnt get in until late because I was out seeing The Muppets after work. I did try it long enough to accidentally let Husky Harris win the World Heavyweight Championship in the Elimination Chamber. Taking me a little longer than I expected to catch onto the controls, we'll see.

Yea. I also find myself not liking it as much because there's no way to change attires, or match type before you head to the next match so I just end up exiting majority of the time anyway.

Wish they'd just let you edit the whole card if you wanted, prior to launching the whole show, instead of just match by match.

I can't wait to let Husky accidentally on purpose win the title. Is his finisher the running senton?

He has the running senton but the reason it was an accident was he just kicked me and won the match. He has Mason Ryan's entrance music.

Not sure if Wild and Young is in, haven't explored that much.

Played a few more matches this morning. Did another Chamber match and had an awesome glitch. I was down to the final two, I was Wade Barrett and the computer was Justin Gabriel. We were fighting in the Chamber section between two cells and Gabriel did an Irish Whip. Instead of hitting the chains, Wade went running through the cage and all the way to the back of the audience. It was bizarre. I thought the game was going to freeze but I casually walked Wade over people and somehow into the Chamber through a holding cell and continued the match like nothing happened.
