Crowd noise was the big innovation this year.

Supposedly it's the commentary in story/attitude mode that is better. I read that they lifted some of the audio directly from old broadcasts.

When they finalized the roster I wonder if any of those guys was even on TV. On one hand it shows that they're doing better debuting new talent at least. 3 of those guys are pretty relevant and have seemingly bright futures. Also Tensai.

They're adding the Kimura Lock, a single move, into the game as DLC? You better be able to break everyone's arm with it.

I would expect it's free or bundled with something else, likely because they didn't start putting the move over until the SummerSlam build-up and thus it was not one of his assigned finishers during production.

I'm sure I'm just getting the Fan Axxess DLC pass again anyway.

Is it just me, or does that seem like alot more DLC characters than other WWE games?


I'd say wait for the GOTY edition, but...yeah like anyone is gonna give that game a GOTY award.

Definitely more than normal. I think part of it is so many of those guys are big parts of TV or were planned to be big parts of TV.

In 2009 they pushed out Bourne, who was in a similar spot to the guys this year and a couple people left out.

2010 I can barely remember who the DLC was.

2011 they did alternates a couple planned extras and then did the three key NXT/Nexus guys (Barrett, Otunga then they supposedly stopped working on Bryan after his release and did Gabriel).

If I remember right 2012 was more legends than anything else.

I think this year there's much more deserving and important guys to throw in, as those guys would probably sell better than other guys debuting in recent years.

That was for 2009. They did the pack with Bourne, Charlie Haas and Super Crazy and then they did the "Legends" pack with those guys and Vader. For some reason I think Vader had music and TitanTron but the others as you mentioned, didn't. I remember those being random and people debating if they were going to be for Legends of Wrestlemania, also a current title at the time, however they would've been really random for that game as well (although still more relevant than Michael Hayes being a Legend of Wrestlemania).

Right! I remember being Vader, he had his theme, it was cool, so I decided I had to play as Doink next... then he wandered out to silence and I was pissed. AND I had HMV and Punisher: War Zone ads all over my arena.

I'm looking forward to what seems like a larger roster and more expansive DLC this year, just hoping they fix some of the issues with Created Wrestlers this year.

Yeah. It was terrible trying to connect to servers. If you could get in though...you could get some amazing CAWs.

I like how the Kimura is DLC when it's a move that probably should be included in a WRESTLING game anyway.

Last year had 19 DLC I believe, but a few of them were just re-skins of wrestlers who were already in the game (LOD, E&C) as well as guys like Cole and Ross. This years lineup seems a lot more "serious" for lack of a better term.

As far as when the rosters are finalized, I've read a ton of different things on this. I think the last I'd heard, Ledesma said that the last week of April is always the cut off for adding new guys to the "on disc" roster. So if they hadn't debuted, or if they weren't a major part of the roster yet by that point, then they weren't making it in and would need to be DLC. Though, I think by this point, even if they had debuted in time, THQ is actively holding guys back as DLC just to make a few bucks on them.
