I finished the Jericho vs Road Dogged match on about the 6th try. Lining up the Powerbomb correctly was a bitch.

First things first, installed a new HDD in my PS3 this afternoon. Finally upgraded from 60 to 500GB. FUCK whoever decided to make the WWE saves non-transferrable via USB drive. Holy shit this is fucking retarded. I had already completely cleared Attitude Era mode, and unlocked everything the hard way, and was planning to buy Axxess so losing the unlockables wasn't really a thing. I'm just pissed as shit that I lost all my created content. At least trophies are stored server side, so I didn't lose them.

I take it you didn't do a full system backup to an external drive beforehand? I learned that the hard way the first time too.

The plus side is that your old HDD will still work in your PS3 so if they ever answer complaints and unlock it then you can just retrieve it.

As it stand right now I can't even back up my WWE13 save to the PS Cloud as its three times the max space you have there.. Ridiculous!

I created a few more tag teams in Universe mode as 3 different un-unified tag titles needed an expanded division to shake things up. I made Evolution - by which I mean Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Triple H 99, and Triple H - but that was planned from day 1. The Kliq - Michaels and X-Pac - because there isn't a DX now, though I guess I could make HBK and X-Pac "DX" (I guess because of set alliances, Universe keeps booking HHH/HBK team storylines). Of course there's the Big Red Machines (or "The Red Army" as they are announced) of Kane and Kane. The one I found odd was The Nation of Domination - I only put Godfather and AE Mark Henry on the team, but the game added R-Truth into the team all by itself. Interesting move, WWE 13.

I'm fairly certain Tony Chimel recorded some audio and then got muted out too since I think Howard Finkel was the ring announcer for most of those matches.

Downloaded an awesome "The Icon Sting" CAW. My only complaint is not being able to change his color scheme since he has a customized facepaint thing. Crazy Joker Sting was in slot 1, followed by Starrcade 97, Wolfpack and "TNA Icon".

For as robust as the call name selection is, I wasn't about to make "The Man Called Sting". The download came with "The Icon STEVE" which was weird but worked, but "Called" isn't in the list, so he's just announced as "The Man".

No way they can patch that, the actual patch would have to be complete downloads of the commentry tracks etc.

Played my first match. The gameplay flows SO much better than the last time I played a WWE game (SD vs. RAW '11) that it isn't funny.

Why in the fuck can't I even create a normal looking reverse DDT in this game!? I wanted to make a sit-out one akin to the Scorpion Deathdrop, and that's not even possible. The closest thing I've found in the pre-existing moves is a scoop slam that gets turned into a sitout reverse DDT at the end.

I'm getting why people say the online is borked; I've had two "servers are down" messages already. Was able to d/l a nice looking Paul Heyman so I can make a Punk/Brock/Ziggler/Bryan stable and rule the universe.

I need to play with the sliders to find the best reversal rates so it isn't Reversamania out there.

Fuck some of these bonus objectives, BTW. I hit Hawk with the tag belt just as the ref was waking up after restarting it like four times and it didn't count. I'll go back to it some other time.

So you can do title matches in exhibition all you want, but in Universe it can only be the #1 contender, correct?

I WAS going to create 3MB, but McIntyre isn't even in the game, though his theme plays in the menus.

No, you can do title matches whenever you want in Universe, too. It's under specialty matches when you are setting up the card.

I'm a huge fan of Drew McIntyre's kick ass "Broken Dreams" theme but this game is making me grow tired of it quickly. Funny how he WWE such a huge part of the United Nations storyline last year and not even in the game this time.

Wow, I had no idea Attitude Era was this long. I just unlocked the Rock section (late-'98) and it feels like I've been going at this for a while. I also found some nice sliders to at least make matches feel a bit more back and forth.

In my Universe I tried to do a #1 contender match between Orton, Barrett and ADR, but they would not stop going to the outside and farting around. I just gave up and simmed it.

Any tips for getting the highlight reel trophy? I've taken a screenshot however many times and the trophy never triggers.

So in WWE '13 Universe I turned Cody Rhodes face and teamed him with Goldust. I made WCW tag champs out of them (I turned Smackdown into a WWE-ized version of WCW.) Chris Jericho and Jack Swagger are in a heel mega-stable and challenged them for the belts. I figured it was the main event of the show, so let's sim an "Epic" tag match. Goldust gets taken out (or walks out) about five minutes in, leaving Cody alone to get the shit kicked out of him for ten minutes. Finally, after two finishers and epic comeback after epic comeback, Swagger slaps on a submission and viola, new tag champs and cutscene featuring a Conchairto. The complete tragic demise of the Rhodes Brothers fairytale title reign, right?

Except that between the end of the match and the cutscene, Cody and Jericho switch places, and suddenly Jericho is the victim of the Shakespearian betrayal. YA TOOK MY HEART UNIVERSE MODE! YA TOOK MY HEART AND YA FLUSHED IT DOWN THE DAMN TOILET!
