@Brocklock I see that and that would make sense. However, wrestling has always been held to different standards, possibly a combination of its age rating; popularity amongst kids; presentation as a “real event,” and live (at the time of the show) presentation. I remember thinking how crazy it was decades ago where the show leading into Raw was a police procedural that had no bleep for G— D—- but the word ass was bleeped on wrestling later in the night. And that isn’t even bringing up all the sexual assault imagery and discussion on the lead in show.

It would not surprise me for there to be a lot of censoring and outright dropping some episodes. Jokes and scenes on The Office were dropped during its Netflix era and I believe continued on Peacock. There is a very good chance there will be changes.

Don't Raw and Smackdown replay on Hulu (I pay for it, as part of the Disney+ bundle, but never use it)? How does this move impact that?

Editing for violent or sexual content, no. But I could see them dropping stuff like the Raws where DX did blackface, Vince's n-word at Survivor Series '05 (actually I need to see if this is on the Network uncensored. . . . . . . . .It is!), HHH doing the "you people" speech on Booker.

@King Kamala Shouldn’t impact it during its current contract. WWE Network also replays Raw and Smackdown but on a much longer delay. Perhaps once that deal expires, Peacock/WWE Network could show them immediately after they have aired live or on the next day.

From what I've seen, the only Office joke to get cut on Peacock was a blackface bit. So, I can see segments like DX impersonating The Nation Of Domination, Akeem's debut, and Vince saying the N-Word getting cut, but I don't think they are gonna get rid of a good portion of the content of what now is one of the cornerstones of their service without hesitation. I think there will just be a warning over some stuff. ECW and Attitude Era stuff already have that content warning before their shows on the Network, so it should be easy.

Remember when Michael went to Benihana and took Jim, Dwight, and Andy? On Peacock (and Netflix too?) Ryan’s excuses bit only had his original 3-4. Jim didn’t tell him he took all the good ones and Ryan rattled off seven more including “grandfather fought in WW2.” They removed THAT.

@Laz, they just made a billion dollars.
They are now even further beholden to NBC and, thusly, their standards and practices. As we've already seen with WCW multiple times, a network's S&P can change on a whim and negatively influence the product.

I'm glad they made a billion dollars. I'm glad the talent will get a share of th...oh, wait, no they won't.

Maybe I'm just jaded because NBC has a negative track record with me, but I also admit I'm not the target audience.

Ugh, the "Vince always wins!", "New York territory" types are having a field day on wittier over today's announcement. They've been quiet lately

Obviously, long term, there's a lot of ways this can go sour but I don't see how anyone can spin today as anything other than a massive win for Vince and the other fat cats in WWE.

The next issue of The Wrestling Observer (if they still print physical issues?)'s headline should just say "When Good Things Happen to Bad People"

No question a great day for the company but the Vince stans coming out of the woodworks again is unbearable (to me at least)

You know what? In spirit of unity, promised by our new presidential administration, I'll let Vince stans have today. Vince and his minions have had a shitass year between his boy Trump going down in flames and company having its worst year since 2003 if not '95 (if not ever). Even fans of evil corporations need to feel good once in a while.

Considering the current rate of 1.1 million subscribers paying $10 a month they look to have increased their Network revenue by $68 million per year while also offloading the costs of running the network and giving them an opportunity to cut jobs, which we know they love to do. Huge financial win for WWE even as it removes the last vestiges of being a company that had to appeal to fans, because with the guaranteed revenue for each PPV they don't have to care one bit if audiences like the PPV lineups. We're not the customers anymore, media conglomerates and investment banks are.

I think the 50% off is a bit misleading. Yes, you were paying $9.99 for the Network and can access the features in the $4.99/month tier. Not sure how they do commercial placement and everything else in that. But you aren’t really getting 50%, it’s just now on a different platform/plan.

I was looking because they do have annual subscriptions that is a little cheaper by committing for the year. The with commercials is $49.99 and the ad free is $99.99, so you can get basically two months free paying in front. I found online there was a code “Today50” from the Today show in November for half off one of the annual plans. Guessing that code is expired but I may try it whenever I get around to trying to set up Peacock.

One other note of interest I just saw called out elsewhere, I guess the press release refers to NXT and not “NXT replays” under current descriptions. This goes back to some of the speculation we talked about elsewhere on the board about NBC Sports shutting down and NHL being moved to USA. So it is a matter if NXT goes back to being a streaming exclusive or if they shuffle it and have it on the service depending on sports schedules.

I imagine they would insert ads at $4.99/M. There are two ad breaks of 60 and 45 seconds per episode of The Office as I am running back through the series for the infinite time. I would assume similar ad breaks of roughly one minute after every ten.

Will we have to re-subscribe to the Network? My mother has a subscription to Peacock, and I'm just wondering what do we have to do to watch wrestling once the move happens. My subscription is still in effect. Will I have to start over?

Man with Pornhub getting RUINED and then this, WHY HAS GOD MADE IT SO HARD TO SEE THE MAJOR GUNNS KNOCKERS.

And in one of the articles I read it says WWE Network will rollover into a 9.99 Peacock Premium subscriptions.

I actually got a free 3 month trial to Peacock back in November that ends at the end of this month. I wasn't going to subscribe but I may now if it means I'll get the network included as well.

If anyone has Xfinity (Comcast) or Cox as your internet provider, you need to take advantage of the free Peacock Premium ($4.99 tier; all content w/ads) offer. You get a free XFi box and remote. The box allows for downloading many of the common apps you would have on a Firestick or Roku. Peacock and the box are totally free (for now).

The article I read about WWE Network joining Peacock stated that Peacock had 22M subscribers and an additional 24M from free avenues of Xfinity and Cox. That means there are a whole bunch of Xfinity and Cox customers not taking advantage of this.

Did they remove Michael's "Ping" from the Dundee's?

They'd just dump Raw and SD like they did SNL. Music edits or removals, but that's the extent. Just like how they take out Meat Loaf but keep Tim Curry telling Eddie Murphy to call him "Massah Tim" and getting him to pain his face white to be taken seriously. I can't see them doing a deep censor dive, especially on a show that's already been streaming and more or less edited since the 24/7 days.
