It's legit more interesting if for no other reason than it set women's wrestling back at least 15 years.

Sort of? Martel was a face and Rude was a heel on the same roster for like a year and a half but vast majority of that time, Martel was a tag guy or absent because he was (IIRC) taking care of his sick wife.

Mama Brody was still trying to convince her 8 year old this shit is fake.
I remember her telling me about the contact lens or whatever they could use to fake it.

Listen woman... I ain't buying it! Andre didn't help Hogan slam him. Bundy's blood wasn't make up... just stop. I just mentally recovered from a big fat man sitting on the Ultimate Warrior and the Hulkster in a 6 month period. I don't need the stress!!!

WWF @ Larkspur, CA - October 7, 1988
Paul Roma defeated Danny Davis
Coco Samoa defeated Bulldog Bob Brown
Hercules defeated Ken Patera
The Powers of Pain defeated Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov
Karate Chris Dube defeated Little Tokyo
Jim Duggan defeated Ted Dibiase via disqualification

The A Team was in Europe so this was the spot show America was left with.
If I knew Bob Brown got WWF dates, I forgot. There was probably 100 better options for the WWF to find a sign at this point.

Edit - Cawthon has him on some dates listed as Harley Race's replacement, so Race getting his Central States buddy a gig makes sense.

Slaughter is up there with Hogan for most BS stories told.
- His version of reality around WM 7.
- Winning a shoot w/ Billy Robinson
- Inventing theme music
- Believing him vs Pat Patterson in the Alley Fight is "The greatest match of all time"
- lots of nuggets of BS will slip in when you read his media work.
"I sat on my couch and got fat while Hasbro sent me checks from 1986-1988" doesn't make for a good story, so I prefer the BS.
- Love Sarge. As I've said before, when I met him I told him "I'm going to pay you the greatest compliment I can...I hated you as an 8 year old"
I then let him know how he made me cry by burning Hogan after WM 7.
- Wait a minute.....that bastard.....fuck Sgt Slaughter!!!!

I wonder if this autograph signing had higher attendance than the Boston Garden show the next day (which weirdly doesn't feature Hogan as all). Only 3500 people in attendance.

I'm surprised at how weak that show is. It's also mid July and Boston Garden had no AC. @HarleyQuinn or @Laz , were you old enough to ever attend a show at the Gahden? It seems like it was absolute ass to attend a show there (and no heating in the winter IIRC!). I did go to some pre John Henry/Tom Werner era Red Sox games when Fenway was still a dump and I heard the Garden was even crappier.

I remember going to a Bruins game when I was around 4-5 (posted in that What Ballparks Have You Been To? thread in Sports IIRC) but that was it.
